Study programme aims and objectives
- To provide students with thorough knowledge of law and international
relations within the context of European values and legal culture and in the light of the developments in the globalised world, including the developments of technology and law, and teach them how to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
- To develop the skills of logical legal and diplomatic argumentation, legal interpretation and analysis.
- To provide knowledge, skills and values that serve as prerequisites for pursuing a master’s degree in law and/or in international relations, and in lifelong learning.
- To develop skills and knowledge that enable the graduates to work in the positions that require specialised education in the field of law or international relations. Show more...
Learning outcomes of the study programme
Upon successful completion of the programme, the graduate:

- explains the principles and theories of law and international relations and their relationship with the European values, globalizing world and technology developments, and applies the knowledge in making legal statements and case solving;
- explains the hierarchy of legal norms and applies the legal norms (according to the specialisation) in presenting legal arguments and in case solving;
- explains the development of politics and international relations, formation and operation of major international organisations;
- demonstrates the basic knowledge of academic language, organisational communication methods, logical argumentation, legal language and interpretation and analytical skills. Show more...
Graduation requirements
Completion of the curriculum in the required amount, and the
successful defence of the graduation paper in conformity with the requirements set by the TalTech Senate; In order to obtain Cum Laude diploma the graduation paper must be defended for the grade "5" and the weighted average grade must be at least 4,60, where all grades from diploma supplement are taken into account.
