Üliõpilane:
- kirjeldab elektrivõrkudes esinevate rikete põhimõisted;
- kirjeldab erinevaid lühiste ja maaühenduste liike;
- koostab elektrivõrgu aseskeeme ja arvutab aseskeemi elementide lühisetakistusi suhtelistes ühikutes.
- kirjeldab lühise siirdeprotsessi lihtsas kolmefaasilises ahelas;
- kirjeldab generaatori reaktsiooni ja mõju lühisele;
- arvutab kolmefaasilist ülimööduvat lühisvoolu ja löökvoolu;
- arvutab kolmefaasilist lahutusvoolu ja püsilühisvoolu;
- kirjeldab sümmeetriliste komponentide meetodi kasutamist asümmeetriliste lühiste arvutamisel;
- arvutab asümmeetrilisi lühisvoole;
- kirjeldab lühiste arvutamise eripära kesk- ja madalpingevõrkudes.

Student:
- describes fundamental ideas of power system faults;
- describes different types of short-circuits and earth faults;
- composes equivalent circuits for electrical networks and calculates per unit values of short-circuit impedances;
- describes transient processes in simple three-phase circuit;
- describes reaction and influence of generators to short circuits;
- calculates three-phase sub-transient currents and a peak currents;
- calculates three-phase breaking currents and steady-state short-circuit currents;
- describes the application of the symmetrical components method for calculation asymmetrical short-circuits;
- calculates asymmetrical short-circuit currents;
- describes the differences of short-circuit calculations in MV and LV networks.

Elektromagnetilised siirdeprotsessid. Lühised. Standard IEC 60909. Suhteliste ühikute süsteem. Ekvivalentne elektromotoorjõud. Elektrisüsteemi elementide lühisetakistused. Takistuste korrektsioonitegurid. Aseskeemid. Kolmefaasilised lühised. Generaatori reaktsioon lühisele. Lühise siirdeprotsessi etapid: ülimööduv talitlus, siirde- ja püsitalitlus. Löökvool. Sümmeetriliste komponentide meetod. Elektrisüsteemi elementide vastu- ja nulljärgnevustakistused. Kahe- ja ühefaasilised lühised ning kahefaasilised maalühised. Lühiste arvutamise erinevused kesk- ja madalpingevõrkudes. Lühisvoolude mehaaniline ja termiline toime.

Electromagnetic transient processes. Short-circuits. Standard IEC 60909. Per unit method. Equivalent voltage source. Short-circuit impedance of electrical equipment. Correction factors. Equivalent electric circuit. Three-phase short-circuits. Influence of generators to short circuits. Stages of short-circuit process: initial current, transient current, steady-state current. Peak current. Influence of generator. Method of symmetrical components. Negative-sequence and zero-sequence impedance of electrical equipment. Line-to-line short-circuits, line-to-line short circuits with earth and line-to-earth short circuits. The differences of short-circuit calculations in MV and LV networks. Mechanical and thermal influence of short-circuit currents.

Semestri vältel neli kontrolltööd, mille positiivne sooritamine on eksamile saamise eelduseks. Eksamil 2 ülesannet ja 5 teoreetilist küsimust. Eksam kirjalik, kestusega 2 tundi.

During the semester there are four tests, the positive performance of theirs give the access to examination. Examination consists of 2 calculation exercises and 5 theoretical questions. The examination is written and lasts 2 hours.
