- ülevaate andmine elektritarbijatest ja tarvititest;
- elektriliste koormuste liikide ja olemuse selgitamine;
- elektrivõrkude ja elektrivarustussüsteemide ülesehituse tutvustamine;
- ülevaate andmine tähtsamatest toiteallikatest ja nõuetest elektrienergia kvaliteedile;
- kaitse ja automaatika rakendamise tutvustamine;
- elektrienergia kokkuhoiuvõimaluste selgitamine.

- to introduce basic concepts and terminology of electrical supply;
- to provide an account of electricity consumers and equipment;
- to provide knowledge of types and nature of electrical loads;
- to introduce the structure of electrical networks and electrical supply systems;
- to provide an account of essential supply sources and requirements to the quality of electrical energy;
- to introduce the application of protection and automation;
- to provide knowledge of possibilities for saving electrical energy.

- clear account of electricity consumers and equipment;
- knowledge of electrical loads and their peculiarities;
- knowledge of basic structures of electrical networks and systems;
- account of essential supply sources and skills required for selection;
- skills to calculate short-circuit currents and select network elements and protective apparatus;
- account of possibilities for electricity conservation.

Elektritarvitid. Elektrilised koormused. Pinge-, võimsus- ja energiakaod. Toide energiasüsteemist. Kohalikud energiaallikad. Elektrienergia kvaliteet. Elektrivarustussüsteemi elementide kaitse ja automaatjuhtimine.
Hoone elektri-, automaatika ja sidepaigaldused.Tarkvõrgud ja arukad hooned.
Energiaagendid. Elektrivarustuse tulevikuvisioon.

Electrical loads; Voltage, power and energy losses; Structure of electrical power networks (outdoor networks, intranets); Operating modes of electrical power networks; Protection and automatic control of the elements of the electricity supply system; Supply sources; Quality of electrical energy; Possibilities of electricity conservation. Electrical, data communication and control systems installations of buildings. Smart grids and smart buildings. Future of electricity supply.

Hindamine toimub kirjaliku eksamina. Eksamieelduseks on samuti osavõtt harjutustundidest, elektritöö ettevõtete tutvumisreisidest ja aruande esitamine nende kohta. Semestri jooksul viiakse läbi ka kaks kontrolltööd, mis 100 punkti süsteemis peavad olema sooritatud vähemalt 50 punktile.

Assessment is by written examination. Prerequisites of the examination are: participation in practical classes, study visits in the utilities and relevant report preparation. Two tests are to be passed during the course, min requirement – 50 points (out of 100).
