Teadmiste omandamine veevärgi ja selle erinevate koostisosade (veeallikad, veehaare, puhastusseadmed, jaotusvõrk) töö ja ehituse, samuti veeomaduste, joogiveele esitatavate nõuete, veepuhastuse tehnoloogia ja puhatusmeetodite kohta. Teadmiste omandamine veetöötlusjaamade ja ühisveevärgi projekteerimiseks ning nende teadmiste kasutamine kursuseprojekti koostamisel.

To provide knowledge about waterworks, about different parts (water sources, water intakes, purification and pipe work) of the system. To provide knowledge about water purification technology. Disinfection of water, stabilization of water and corrosion protection of water pipelines. Groundwater treatment, clarification system of water treatment plants. Design of water supply. Practical training (project) for design of drinking water purification systems.

Üliõpilane oskab iseseisvalt ühisveevärgi tööd planeerida, korraldada ja juhtida, tal on põhjalikud teadmised veetöötlustehnoloogia alal, ta oskab veevärgi erinevate elementide projekteerimist ja ehitustööde läbiviimist juhendada, ta tunneb asula veehaarde, veetöötlusjaama ja kogu veevärgi tootlikkuse määramise ning üldskeemi koostamise metoodikat. The student is able independently to plan, organize and manage public waterworks. Student has complete knowledge on water treatment technology, is able to design various waterworks elements and conduct construction works. Student knows water intake, water treatment, entire waterworks yield determination and the general layout compilation methodology.
