- teab renoveeritavate hoonete uurimistehnikat ja selle kasutamise erinevaid võimalusi;
- tunneb hoonete tehnosüsteemide renoveerimise põhilahendusi;
- oskab planeerida hoone kasutusiga ja tööiga;
- oskab määrata võimalikke renoveerimis- ja tugevduslahendusi.

- be able to assess the factors and causes of damage to building materials, building envelope structures, and load bearing structures;
- know the survey and research technique of buildings to be renovated and its possible applications;
- know the base design solutions for renovation of service systems;
- be able to plan the service life of a building;
- be able to determine possible renovation solutions.

Ülevaade hoonete ja tehnosüsteemide renoveerimise problemaatikast. Materjalide, tarindite ja konstruktsioonide kahjustuste mõjurid ning põhjused, uurimise meetodid, tehnika ja renoveerimine. Hoone kestvus ja kasutusea planeerimine. Ülevaade ehitusfüüsika küsimustest hoonete renoveerimisel. Sisekliima ja energiatõhusus hoonete renoveerimisel. Ehitiste avariieelsete seisundite ja avariide põhjused.

An overview of the problematic of renovating buildings and utility systems. The causes and factors of damage to building materials and structures; research methods, techniques and renovation. The planning of a buildings lifetime and usage time. An overview of building physics issues in renovating buildings. Indoor climate and energy efficiency in building renovation. Causes of pre-collapse states and collapses of buildings.

Aine hinne moodustub eksami, tunnikontrollide, kontrolltööde, iseseisva töö ja praktikumi tulemustest.
Hindeline eksam moodustub (jaotus otsustatakse igal aastal) tüüpiliselt:
- 70% kirjalik-suuline lõpp-test. Aine läbimise eelduseks on lõpp-testil vähemalt 51% punktide saamine;
- 30% eksamihindest moodustab hindeline grupitöö (4-6 tudengilised grupid): Hoone renoveerimisprojekt, mille õigeks tähtajaks esitamine ja hindamine >61% on eksamile pääsu eelduseks.

Iseseisva töö, tunnikontrollide ja kontrolltööde tulemused kehtivad kaks semestrit (sh. dekl. semester). Eksami hilisemal sooritamisel tulevad need uuesti sooritada.
Eksami ajal ei ole lubatud kaasüliõpilastega suhtlemine. Mittelubatava materjali kasutamine, spikerdamise või spikerdamiskahtluse korral kantakse hindamisprotokolli hinne „0“ ja eksami uuesti sooritamise eelduseks on kogu aineprogramm uuesti läbimine.

The grade of the course will be formed on the basis of tests, independent work and practical work.
The grade will typically (may vary from year to year) consist of:
- the oral-written final test will form 70% of the grade. The prerequisite for passing the course is obtaining at least 51% of the points https://ois.ttu.ee/pls/portal/#in the test;
- the graded group work (4-6 people in a group) will form 30% of the grade: A building renovation project. The timely submission and a result of more than 61% are the prerequisites to accessing the final test.

The results of the independent work and tests will be valid for two semesters (including the declared semester). They have to be redone, if the exam is taken at a later period.
Communication with a fellow student during the exam is prohibited. Using prohibited course materials, cheating or suspected cheating will result in a grade of “0” and redoing the whole program of the course will be the prerequisite to retaking the exam.
