course aims in Estonian
Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- anda ülevaade hoone ja selle süsteemide modelleerimise põhitõdedest, võimalustest ning piirangutest;
- tutvustada peamisi töövõtteid eri tüüpi hoonete modelleerimiseks ning energiatarbe ja sisekliima parameetrite simuleerimiseks ning analüüsiks IDA Indoor Climate and Energy (IDA-ICE) tarkvara abil.

The aim of this course is to:
- give an overview of the basic principles in building and its systems modelling, possibilities and limitations
- provide main skills for modelling different types of buildings, building systems and for energy and indoor climate simulations and analysis with IDA Indoor and Climate (IDA-ICE) software.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- koostab iseseisvalt mudeli eri tüüpi hoonetele;
- valib iseseisvalt inseneritöö ja teaduse tavapärasemates rakendustes sobivad mudeli parameetrid ning hoone simulatsiooni tüübi;
- mõistab ja võrdleb lihtsama hoone simulatsiooni tulemusi;
- teadvustab lihtsustuste mõju simulatsiooni tulemustele;
- hindab mudeli parameetrite mõju simulatsiooni tulemustele.

After completing this course, the student:
- creates a model for different types of buildings independently;
- independently selects appropriate model parameters and building simulation type in more common engineering and science applications;
- understands and compares the results of a simpler building simulation;
- recognizes the effect of simplifications on simulation results;
- evaluates the effect of model parameters on simulation results.

Kursus on üles ehitatud õpitegevustele semestri jooksul ja lõpeb kursusetööga, mille teema valib üliõpilane. Õpitakse hoonete modelleerimist energiavajaduse ja sisekliima analüüsi jaoks dünaamilise simulatsioonitarkvara abil.

Kursusel käsitletavad teemad:
- hoonete geomeetria ja piirdetarindite määratlemine
- sisemised ja välised vabasoojused
- tehnosüsteemid ja nende juhtimine
- määrusepõhise energiaarvutuse sisendid

The course is structured around learning activities during the semester and ends with a coursework on a topic of the student's choice. Building modelling for energy demand and indoor climate analysis using dynamic simulation software is taught.
