Luua võimalus kindlas elektroenergeetika ja mehhatroonika spetsialiseerumise valdkonnas doktoritöö koostamiseks vajalike teadmiste omandamiseks. Arendada teaduslikuks tööks vajalikke oskusi laboratoorsete ja tööstuslike eksperimentide läbiviimiseks, katsetulemuste analüüsimiseks, teaduslike järelduste tegemiseks, teadusartikklite ja muude teaduspublikatsioonide koostamiseks ning teadustulemuste levitamiseks ja populariseerimiseks. Arendada projektipõhiseid meeskonnatööoskusi ja teadusliku väitluse oskusi.

The aim is to enable students to obtain knowledge and skills for scientific work in the specific electrical power engineering and mechatronics area of the doctoral research work. To develop skills for study, research and critical evaluation of scientific publications (monographs and periodical publications) in specific area of doctoral research work. To develop skills for the composition of scientific reports as well as for the erection of scientific problems and hypotheses in the specific research area. To develop skills for team and project based work and skills for scientific discussion.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- avaldab originaalseid teadustulemusi rahvusvaheliselt eelretsenseeritavates teadusväljaannetes;
- algatab, koostab, rakendab ja hindab kriitiliselt teadus- ning arendustöid;
- argumenteerib ja osaleb teemakohastes aruteludes oma õppekeeles ja võõrkeeles;
- oskab koostada ettekannet ja seda esitada;
- tutvustab ja kaitseb oma teadustöö tulemusi doktoritöö eelkaitsmisel.

- publishes original results of the research work in internationally previewed scientific publications;
- initiates, compiles, implements and evaluates critically research and development works;
- argues and participates in pertinent discussions in mother tongue and in a foreign language;
- knows how to prepare and give a presentation;
- presents and defends his/her research work in doctoral thesis pre-defense.

Teadusseminari peamisteks tegevusteks on: teadus-arendustöö doktoritöö teemal, sh laboratoorsete või tööstuslike eksperimentide plaanimine ja läbiviimine, katsetulemuste analüüs, informatsiooni kogumine mõõtmiste, küsitluste vm viisisl, teaduslike järelduste tegemine, uurimistöö tulemuste aruande koostamine, osalemine doktorikoolis ja esinemine seal ettekandega, artikli kirjutamine ja selle avaldamine eelretsenseeritavas ajakirjas, artikli kirjutamine ja selle ettekandmine eelretsenseeritaval rahvusvahelisel konverentsil, populaarteadusliku artikli kirjutamine, esinemine avaliku teadusliku loenguga.
brief description of the course in English
The detailed issue of the seminar of power engineering will be annually planned in accordance with the actual research problems and themes of doctoral students. The main activities are research and development, planning and carrying through of laboratory and industrial experiments, analyses of results, gathering of information through measurements, questionnaires or other ways, conclusion making by deduction, reporting of results in written and oral ways, composing and publishing of preliminary reviewed scientific articles for international conferences or journals. Public presentation of scientific results on conferences, scientific lectures.

Teadusseminariks valmistumine toimub iseseisva teadustöö ning konsultatsioonide korras kuni 240 tunni mahus.
