Aine eesmärk on:
- anda ülevaade hoonete teraskarkassi konstrueerimise põhimõtetest;
- õpetada teraskarkassi arvutusskeemi ja koormusskeemi kujundamist;
- õpetada kraanatala arvutusskeemi ja koormusskeemi kujundamist;
- õpetada karkassi sõlmede kujundamist ja tugevusarvutusi;
- käsitleda terasest katusekonstruktsiooni lahendusi ja arvutust.

The aim of this course is to give basic knowledge of:
-types and elements of steel framework structures;
- loads, behaviour and analysis of typical steel frameworks;
- analysis and design of crane girder;
- analysis of joints of steel frameworks,
- steel roof structures.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane
- on suuteline valima hoone terasest kandekonstruktsioonile otstarbeka lahenduse;
- omab teadmisi hoone teraskarkassi arvutusskeemi koostamisest koos koormustega;
- tunneb sisejõudude määramise meetodeid teraskarkassi arvutusskeemis koos sidemete süsteemiga;
- omab teadmisi teraskarkassi elementide arvutusest ja konstrueerimisest

- is able to choose rational solution for typical steel framework of a building;
- has knowledge about analysis scheme of a steel framework including loading;
- has knowledge about statical analysis methods of steel framework including bracing;
- knows basic methods of analysis and design of steel elements;
- has knowledge about analysis and design of joints in structural steel framework

Karkassi arvutusskeemid. Raamide sisejõudude määramine. Esimest ja teist järku sisejõud. Sidemetesüsteemid. Kraanatalad. Karkassi sõlmede kujundamine. Katuse- ja seinakonstruktsioonid. Õppeaine sisaldab projekti, mille ülsandeks on ühekorruselise ühelöövilise kergkonstruktsioonis tööstushoone teraskonstruktsioonide projekteerimine etteantud mõõtmete põhjal, katusekonstruktsiooni, postide, otsaseina karkassi ja sidemete kujundamine ja dimensioonimine ning tähtsamate karkassi sõlmede arvutus ja konstrueerimine.

Structural schemes for analysis of steel frameworks. Statical analysis of steel frames. First order and second order load effects. Bracing system. Crane supporting structures. Joints of members of frames. Roof and wall structures. The course includes course project, subject of the course project is design of the steel framework of a single-storey single bay industrial building, design of roof structure, columns, framework of the end wall structures and bracing, analysis and design of the main joints.
