Anda üliõpilastele teadmised:
Kivikonstruktsioonidest, nendele esitatavatest nõuetest, arvutamise ja projekteerimise alustest, hoonete müüritise kandeskeemidest.
Geotehnika alustest, geotehnilistest konstruktsioonidest, s.h. vundamentidest, Eesti geoloogilisest ehitusest, geoloogiliste uuringute liikidest ja meetoditest, pinnase peamistest omadustest ja näitarvudest, vundamentide, nõlvade ja tugiseinte projekteerimise põhimõtetest.

Give to the students knowledge about:
Types of masonry structures, load bearing models of masonry, regulations and basis of design and analysis of masonry
Basis of geotechnical engineering, geotechnical structures including foundations, genesis and types of soils in Estonia, basic characteristic parameters of soils, methods of geotechnical investigations, basis of design of geotechnical structures - slopes, retaining walls and foundations.

Üliõpilane peab kursuse läbimise järel teadma kivikonstruktsioonide arvutamise ja stabiilsuse tagamise üldiseid põhimõtteid, oskama arvestada erinevate müürikivide või –plokkide kasutusvõimalustega.
Üliõpilane oskab osaleda geotehnilised uuringu programmi koostamisel, teab pinnaste omadusi ja nende vahelisi seoseid, oskab hinnata ja põhjendada geotehnilise konstruktsiooni, s.h. vundamendi tüübi valikut.

Kivikonstruktsioonid, müüritise materjalid, materjalide omadused, moodulsüsteemid, kandeskeemid, arvutuse ja projekteerimise põhimõtted, Hoone stabiilsus. Pinnaste teke, koostis ja liigitus. Geoloogilised uuringud. Pinnaste omadused. Vee mõju pinnase käitumisele. Geotehnilise projekteerimise alused. Pinnasesurve piiretele ja tugiseinte projekteerimine. Nõlva püsivus. Vundamendi tüübi valimise põhimõtted. Pinnase omaduste parendamine.

Stability of a building. Origin, composition and classification of soils. Geotechnical investigation, properties of soils. Water in soils. Basics of geotechnical design. Earth pressure and design of retaining walls. Earth pressure on conduits. Stability of slopes. Basics of choosing of foundation type. Improvement of soils.
