Anda ülevaade erinevatest kaasaegsetest tarkadest ja funktsionaalsetest tekstiiltoodetest, nende valmistamiseks kasutatavatest materjalides, nende tootmistehnoloogiatest ning toimimise põhimõtetest. Anda ülevaade tekstiiltoodetesse integreeritavatest elektroonikakomponentidest ning nende toimimise põhimõtetest. Tutvustada eriomadustega kiudude kasutamist tarkade ja funktsionaalsete tekstiiltoodete valmistamisel. Tutvustada kaasaegsete tarkade ja funktsionaalsete tekstiiltoodete rakendusvaldkondi: sport, kaitserõivastus, meditsiin, erinevad tööstuslikud ja tehnilised tekstiiltooted jm.

To give an overview of different modern smart and functional textile products, materials used for them, their production processes and their principle of working. To give an overview of different integrated electronic components and their principle of working. To introduce different high-performance fibres and their applications in smart and functional textile products. To introduce applications of modern smart and functional textile materials: sport, clothing for protection, medicine, different industrial and technical textiles etc.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- tunneb ja teab erinevaid tarku ja funktsionaalseid tekstiiltooteid ning nende valmistamisel kasutatavaid materjale ning muid komponente, tunneb nende tootmistehnoloogiat ning toimimise põhimõtteid;
- oskab kokku panna lihtsamaid elektroonikaskeeme ja integreerida neid tekstiilitoodetesse ning rõivastesse;
- omab ülevaadet erinevatest tarkadest ja intelligentsetest ning funktsionaalsetest tekstiilitoodetest ja nende kasutusvaldkondadest.

Sissejuhatus tarkade ja funktsionaalsete tekstiiltoodete valmistustehnoloogiatesse, toimimise põhimõtetesse ning kasutusvaldkondadesse.
Ülevaade erinevatest tarkadest tekstiilidest ning nende toimimise põhimõtetest: passiivsed materjalid (passive smart materials), aktiivsed materjalid (active smart materials) ja eriti targad materjalid (very smart materials).
Eriomadustega kiudude kasutamine tarkade ja funktsionaalsete tekstiiltoodete valmistamisel.
Erinevate tarkade ja funktsionaalsete tekstiilmaterjalide tootmise tehnoloogiad: juhtivad kiud, juhtivad kangad (conductive Fabrics), juhtivad trükipastad ja tindid (conductive inks), sensoritena kasutatavad juhtivad materjalid (conductive materials as sensors).
