Õppimise käigus saadakse teadmisi:
- rõivaste töötlemise tehnoloogia põhimõistetest;
- toote valmistamise tehnoloogiatest;
- toote valmistamise protsessi eri etappidest;
- mis on toote kvaliteet, millised tegurid mõjutavad toote kvaliteeti ja millised on kvaliteedi hindamise meetodid;
- toote valmistamiseks vajalikust tehnilisest dokumentatsioonist ja selle koostamisest;
- ringmajanduse rakendamise põhimõtetest rõivaste ja tekstiiltoodete tootmisel.
Praktikumi tundides omandatakse teadmisi ja oskusi õmblustoodete valmistamiseks, kasutades kaasaegseid masinaid ja seadmeid.

During the studies students will get the following knowledge:
- an overview of the principles of clothing production technology;
- product manufacturing technologies;
- different stages of product development;
- what is product quality, what kind of factors influence product quality and what are different evaluation methods of the quality;
- what is technical documentation of the product and how to compose it;
- principles of applying circular economy in textile and clothing production.
In practical lessons different knowledge and practice will be gained about product manufacturing using modern machinery and equipment.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- valib, kasutab ja kujundab sobivalt toodeteks tekstiili- jt materjale ning leiab nende töötlemiseks kohaseid tehnoloogiaid;
- valdab erialast terminoloogiat ning koostab toote valmistamiseks vajaliku dokumentatsiooni/spetsifikatsioonid;
- kavandab omandatud teadmisi ja oskusi rakendades toodet algetapist kuni toote valmimiseni;
- töötab välja kvaliteedinõudeid toote tehnoloogilistele sõlmedele ja valmistootele;
- tunneb toote valmistamise põhinõudeid, on kursis erialaste standarditega;
- rakendab toote kavandamisel ja valmistamisel ringmajanduse põhimõtteid.

After completing this course, the student:
- chooses suitable textile materials for certain products and also to chooses appropriate technologies for producing them;
- knows specific terminology and composes necessary documentation for product manufacturing;
- implements gained knowledge into product development process and producing the prototype;
- works out quality requirements for different clothing and textile products;
- knows quality standards for apparel and other textile products and is familiar with different standards;
- applies circular economy principles in product development and production.

Kursuse jooksul antakse ülevaade kaasaegsest õmblustööstusest ning tööstuse arengusuundadest, kaasaegsetest tehnoloogiatest ja kasutatavatest seadmetest,. ringmajanduse põhimõtete rakendamisest rõivaste ja tekstiiltoodete tootmisel. Õpitakse erinevatest materjalidest valmistatud toodete töötlemise iseärasusi (riie, trikotaaž, nahk). Iga üliõpilane kavandab ja valmistab ühe toote, läbides toote valmistamise käigus tootearenduse erinevad etapid. Harjutus- ja praktikumi tundides omandatakse teadmised toote kvaliteedist, õmblustööstuses kasutatavatest õmblustest, nende liigitusest ja kasutusvaldkondadest ja õpitakse töötlema toodete üksikuid tehnoloogilisi sõlmi. Õpitakse töötlema pehmemööbli kattematerjalide töötlemise iseärasusi. Teostatud praktilistele töödele koostavad üliõpilased vajaliku tehnilise dokumentatsiooni (operatsioonide kirjeldus, tehnoloogilised joonised, kasutusel olevad sümbolid, spetsifikatsioonid jms).
brief description of the course in English
A thorough overview of modern sewing industry and its trends will be given during the course, more over different modern equipment and technologies will be introduced. Applying circular economy principles in textile and clothing industry. Students will gain knowledge how to use different materials (woven fabric, knitted fabric and leather) in product development process. Each student will design and make one product. In this process the student will follow the classical product development steps. In practices and exercises, new knowledge will be gained from product quality, different seam types and their classification and usage, also students will gain practical knowledge about sewing. Students will learn basics of upholstery furniture technology. Students will compose technical documentation to the practical works done (descriptions of the operations, technological drawings, different symbols used, specifications etc).
