• Teab põhjavee tekke, aluspõhjas paiknemise ja liikumise seaduspärasusi. Tunneb peamisi põhjaveekomplekse ja -kihte, nende toitumise peamisi piirkondi, seoseid sademete ja põhjavee omaduste vahel. veevaru, reostuskaitstust, probleeme, võimalikke reostuse põhjuseid.
* Teab ja oskab hinnata põhjavee alanemise põhjuseid ja põhjavee kaitse vajadust.
• Oskab hinnata põhjavee liikumist ja sissevoolu ehitiste süvenditesse ja kraavidesse.
• Oskab kasutada hüdrogeoloogilisi teadmisi veevarustuse ja kanalisatsiooni projekteerimisel, ehitamisel.

• Knows and is able to assess water table lowering reasons and protection requirement.
• Can evaluate groundwater movement and inflow into the construction pits and trenches.
• Can use hydrogeological knowledge in design and construction of water supply and sewerage systems.

Eesti geoloogiline ehitus, selle omapära, pinnakate, aluspõhja reljeef, vee liigid kivimites, põhjavee liikumine, filtratsioon, Darcy seadus, surveline ja vabapinnaline põhjavee vool homogeenses keskkonnas, juurdevoolu arvutus. Põhjavee toitumine. Põhjavee, pinnavee, maakasutuse ja kliima muutuste koostoimimine. Infiltratsiooni alad. Eesti hüdrogeoloogilised tingimused. Põhjaveekihid ja veepidemed Eestis. Veeand. Põhjaveevaru, selle kasutus ja veehaarded. Põhjavee keemiline koostis ja aluspõhjast tulenevad iseärasused. Pinnakatte paksus. Põhjavee reostuskaitstus, kaitstuse määramine ja reostuskaitstuse kaart. Reostuse põhjused ja tagajärjed. Vee liigtarbimine, põhjavee taseme alanemine, merevee sissetung, pinnase vajumine, depressioonilehter ja selle arvutamine. Hüdrogeoloogilised uuringud. Estonia's geology and its peculiarities, surface coatings, bedrock topography, water in rocks, groundwater movement, filtration, Darcy's law, the pressure line and the free-dimensional groundwater flow in a homogeneous environment, flow calculation. Groundwater, surface water, land use and climate change interrelation and synergism. Infiltration areas. Estonian hydrogeological conditions. Groundwater aquifers and aquitards in Estonia. Groundwater resources, use and water intakes. Groundwater chemical composition and peculiarities. The coating thickness. Groundwater vulnerability, designation, vulnerability map. Causes of pollution and consequences. Overuse of groundwater, water table lowering, saltwater intrusion, soil crash, depression cone and its calculation. Hydrogeological survey. Groundwater status and protection
