Arendada üliõpilaste toote kavandamise ja projekteerimisoskusi konstruktoritarkvarade baasil. Praktilised ülesanded on seotud puittoodete, mööbli, pehme mööbli ning plasttoodete (profiilmaterjalid, survevalu- ja rotovormitavad jt. tooteid), rõivaste konstrueerimise alaste tehniliste tööjooniste valmistamisega.
Anda üliõpilastele praktiliste ja teaduslike probleemide lahendamisel töökogemus ettevõtetes kui ka ülikoolide teaduslaborites. Arendada üliõpilaste tootearendus või teadusprojekti juhtimise ja läbiviimise oskusi ja anda neile kogemusi meeskonnatöös nii teaduslaboratooriumis kui ettevõtetes.

To develop students' practical working skills in product planning and engineering design of wooden products, furniture, upholstery or plastic products (extruded, injection moulded, or rotomoulded products) or garment products in Estonian companies. To develop the product development and project management and implementation skills in private companies or scientific research laboratories.

Üliõpilane:
- omab ülevaadet õpitava eriala põhiprobleemidest ja omandab praktilisi oskusi nende lahendamisel.
- reaalsete inseneriprobleemide lahendamise oskuse omandamine.
- on suuteline puit-, plast- või rõivaesemest eskiisi joonistama, ruume mõõdistama ja nende plaane koostama.
- oskab toote eskiisi alusel valmistada korrektseid tehnilisi jooniseid, mis on ettevõttes aluseks detailide valmistamisele.
- omandab teadmised toote 3D mudelite loomiseks arvutigraafikaprogrammide abil.
- oskab muuda toote 3D mudelit töödelda CAM programmiga, et seda on võimalik valmistada CNC pingis töötlemisega.
- omandab praktilised oskused ja töökogemused konstruktoritarkvarade kasutamisest puidu-, mööbli-, plasti- ja rõivatööstuse toodete arendusprotsessil.
- oskab kirjutada korrektseid aruandeid oma projekti raames läbi viidud tööde kohta ja neid kaitsta

Student will:
- be able to solve actual engineering problems.

- have an overview of 3D-modelling with special software.
- be able to modify product’s 3D-model with CAM software to prepare it for production in CNC machine.
- gain practical skills and experience in applying special design software’s in wood, furniture, plastic and garment products development.

Projekt põhineb inseneriülesannete lahendamisel konstruktoritarkvarade AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, Lectra toodete abil. Konstruktoritarkvarade praktiline kasutamine inseneri töös. Toote või toote prototüübi mõõtmine ja eskiisi joonistamine. Tehniliste tööjooniste valmistamine eskiiside baasil. Koostejooniste valmistamine. Toodete 3D-modelleerimine konstruktoritarkvaradega. 3D-mudelitest tehniliste jooniste ja vaadete genereerimine tööjooniste valmistamiseks ettevõttes. Toote 3D mudeli töötlemine CAM tarkvaraga. Tooteprototüüpide valmistustehnoloogiad. Prototüüpide kiirvalmistusmeetodite kasutamine puidu-, mööbli- ja plastitööstuse toodete arendusprotsessil.

Solving the engineering tasks by using 2D and 3D design software’s AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, Lectra. Measuring a product or a prototype and drawing a sketch. Preparation of technical drawings based on sketch. Preparing of assembly drawings in a company. 3D-modelling with designing software’s. Preparation of technical drawings and views in a company based on 3D-models. Processing of a 3D-model with CAM software. Prototyping technologies. Applying fast prototyping in wood, furniture and plastic products development.
