brief description of the course in Estonian
Kursuse käigus üliõpilased omandavad ja täiendavad praktilise teadustöö ja projektilahenduse oskusi konkreetsete ülesannete lahendamisel ettevõtetes või teaduslaborites. Projektide temaatikateks on järgmised probleemid. Puit-, tekstiil- ja plastmaterjalide füüsikalis-mehaanilised ja keemilised omadused. Materjalide andmelehed ja toote sertifikaadid. Enim kasutatavad katsetamismetoodikad. Puidu-, mööbli-, pehme mööbli, tekstiili- ja plastide tootmises kasutatavad materjalide katsetusstandardid. Nõuded puit-, tekstiil- ja plasttoodete kvaliteedi hindamiseks erinevatel tootmisprotsessidel. Katseplaani koostamine. Materjali omaduste muutumine tootmisprotsessil (plastide sulatöötlemine, vineeri kuumpressimine jne.). Materjalide füüsikalis-mehaaniliste standardikohaste katsetuste läbi viimine, analüüs ja raporti kirjutamine.
brief description of the course in English
During the course the students are acquiring the knowledge and complementing their practical skills in scientific research or project management by solving specific tasks in private companies or scientific research laboratories.
The following areas are covered with student projects. Physical-mechanical properties of wood, textile and polymeric materials. Materials data sheets and product certificates. The most commonly used testing methods. Testing standards for materials used in wooden products, furniture, upholstery (soft furniture), textile and plastics production. Quality requirements for wood, textile and plastic products in different production processes. Creating a test plan. Changing of materials properties during production (plastics melt processing, plywood hot-pressing, etc.). Testing of materials physical-mechanical properties according to standards, analysis and writing a report.
