VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
course aims in English
Course aims to provide basic knowledge about modelling and analysis of frames and trusses, that can be used to solve the structural engineering problems. Students will also learn the calculation methods for both statically determinante and indeterminate structures. The infuence lines and deflection of statically determinante structures will also be taught.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane oskab:
- leida konstruktsiooni arvutusskeemi staatikaga määramatuse astet ning teostada geomeetrilise struktuuri analüüs ;
- määrata sisejõudusid tala-, raamkonstruktsioonides ja sõrestikes;
- arvutada varraskonstruktsiooni siirdeid;
- koostada mõjujooni talakonstruktsioonides ja sõrestikes;
- määrata staatikaga määramatu konstruktsiooni sisejõudusid;
- seostada ehitusmehaanika teadmisi ehituse valdkonna nähtuste kirjeldamisel, analüüsil ning lahendamisel.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After the completion of the course, the student possesses the following skills:
- determination of hyperstaticity degree and geometrical analysis of structure;
- evaluation of internal forces in beam and frame structure;
- evaluation of the structural deflection;
- evaluation of influence lines for beams and trusses;
- evaluation of internal forces in hyperstatical structures;
- can link the concepts of structural mechanics with the relevant phenomena in civil engineering.
brief description of the course in Estonian

brief description of the course in English
Introduction to structural mechanics. Internal forces and influence lines of beam structure. Statically determinate frame and arch. Deflection analysis. Force method. Approximate methods of evaluation. Combined structures.
type of assessment in Estonian
Hindamine toimub ja lõpphinne kujuneb kontrolltööde ja eksami tulemuste põhjal.
Eksamile pääsemise eelduseks on kodutööde arvestamine.
Eksamil ülesanete sooritamine ei ole vajalik, kui kontrolltöödega on ületatud seatud lävend.
type of assessment in English
A student’s grade is calculated on the basis of credits earned on mid-term exams and final exam. Set credit threshold from home exercises should be passed in order to participate in the final examination. Problem solution on final examination is not required if a set threshold is exceeded with mid-term exams.
independent study in Estonian
Kodutööde tegemine. Iseseisev tutvumine teooriaga.
independent study in English
Individual preparation of home works. Individual familiarization with theory.
