Anda teadmised varraskonstruktsioonide modelleerimisest lõplike elementide meetodi (LEM) abil, mida hiljem saab kasutada erialaste ülesannete lahendamisel ehituskonstruktsioonide valdkonnas. Selgitada LEM matemaatiline sisu ja rakenduse piirid, lõpliku elemendi koordinaatide teisendusi, tulemuste interpoleerimist ja rajatingimuste tüüpe. Anda teadmisi algoritmidest, mida kasutatakse ehitusmehaanika ülesannete lahendamiseks arvuti abil.
course aims in English
Course aims to provide basic knowledge about modelling of frames and trusses by finite elements method, that can be further used to solve the structural engineering problems. Students will learn mathematical basics of method and its application liimits, coordinate transformations, inerpolation of nodal results and types of boundary conditions. Student will also get knowledge about algorithms needed for computer aided solution of a structural mechanics probleem.

Aine läbimisel üliõpilane oskab:
- määrata varraskonstruktsiooni sisejõudusid kandevõime- ja deformatsioonimeetodi abil;
- teostada varraskonstruktsiooni stabiilsuarvutust;
- kasutada maatriksmeetodeid ehitusmehaanikas;
- koostada LEM elemendi jäikusmaatriksi lokaalsetes ja globaalsetes koordinaatides;
- leida elemendi väärtuseid interpoleerimise abil;
- lahendada lihtsamaid ülesandeid LEM abil kasutades selleks programmeerimist;
- oskab seostada ehitusmehaanika teadmisi ehituse valdkonna nähtuste kirjeldamisel, analüüsil ning lahendamisel.

After the completion of the course, the student possesses the following skills:
- determination of internal forces by bearing capacity and deformation methods;
- buckling analysis of a frame structure;
- application of matrix methods in structural mechanics;
- evaluation of element rigidity matrix in local and global coordinates;
- solution of a simple problem by FEM using programming language;
- can link the concepts of structural mechanics with the relevant phenomena in civil engineering.

Kandevõimemeetod. Deformatsioonimeetod. Raami stabiilsus. LEM matemaatiline sisu. Jäikusmaatriksi tuletamine. Koordinaatide teisendused. Interpoleerimine. Arvuline integreerimine. Tasandkonstruktsiooni modelleerimine. Geomeetriliste ja materjali mittelineaarsustega arvestamine.

Bearing capacity method. Deformation method. Frame buckling. Mathematical basics of FEM. Derivation of rigidity matrix. Coordinate transformations. Interpolation. Numerical integration. Modelling of a plane structure. Consideration of geometrical and material non-linearities.

Hindamine toimub ja lõpphinne kujuneb kontrolltööde, arvutitööde ja eksami tulemuste põhjal.
Eksamile pääsemise eelduseks on kodutööde ja arvutitööde arvestamine.
Eksamil ülesanete sooritamine ei ole vajalik, kui kontrolltöödega on ületatud seatud lävend.

A student’s grade is calculated on the basis of credits earned on mid-term exams and final exam. Set credit threshold from home exercises should be passed in order to participate in the final examination. Problem solution on final examination is not required if a set threshold is exceeded with mid-term exams.
