Anda ülevaade eri tüüp sildadest, sillakoormustest ja sildade alusehitistest. Anda esmased põhiteadmised teras- ja raudbetoonkonstruktsioonide ning taldmik- ja vaivundamentide projekteerimiseks, s.h. nende kande ja kasutuspiirseisundi arvutustest.

Give an overview of the different type of bridges, bridge loads and bridge substructures. Give a a basic understanding of designing steel and reinforced concrete structures and slab and pile foundations, including ultimate limit state and service limit state calculations.

Estonian bridges. How choose bridge type. Bridge loads. Design of steel structures. Steel grades, calculation of cross-sections. Design of girders and columns. Welded and bolt joints. Reinforced concrete structures. Concrete and reinforcement properties. Bending and shear design for reinforced concrete cross-sections. Beams and slabs calculations. Bridge deck structures. Bridges joints and bearings. Bridge piers, abutments. Retaining walls. Calculation of slab foundations. Calculation of pile foundations. Steel tube bridges.
