Kursuse eesmärgiks on teadmiste omandamine ja oskuste kujundamine keemiliste mõõtmiste plaanimiseks, sooritamiseks, mõõtetulemuste usaldusväärsuse tagamiseks ning statistiliste meetodite rakendamiseks ja vastava tarkvara kasutamiseks keemiliste mõõtmistulemuste töötlemisel ja analüüsimisel.

The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge and to form skills for chemical measurments planning, execution, the results of measurment reliability providing and statistical methods applying, as well as corresponding software use when processing and analysing the results of measurment.

Üliõpilane teab metroloogia-alaseid põhimõisteid, oskab mõõtmist plaanida ja korraldada, tagades mõõtetulemuste usaldusväärsuse, oskab mõõtmisandmete põhjal hinnata mõõtmistulemust ning selle määramatust, tunneb mõõtevahendite metroloogilise kontrolli meetodeid, oskab valida ja rakendada andmetele sobivaid andmeanalüüsi meetodeid ning rakendatud meetodite tulemusi esitada ja tõlgendada, oskab kasutada vähemalt ühte andmetöötluse ja -analüüsi tarkvara.

Student knows the basic concepts of metrology, is able to plan and arrange measurement providing reliability of the results of measurement, on the basis of measurement data can evaluate the result of measurement and its uncertainty, knows measuring instruments metrological control methods, can decide on proper methods of data analysis, as well as interpret and present the results of the methods applied, can use at least one software of data processing and analysis.

Metroloogia põhimõisted. Mõõtmine, mõõtetulemus, mõõtemääramatus keemias (mõõtmiste ja mõõtemääramatuse põhiprintsiibid, ISO GUM ja Nordtesti meetodid määramatuse hindamiseks). Jälgitavus. Valideerimine ja kvaliteedikontroll. Mõõtevahendid. Mõõtevahendite kalibreerimine. Tõenäosusteooria ja matemaatilise statistika põhimõisted ja enamlevinud jaotused. Statistiliste andmete kirjeldamine ja näitlikustamine. Hüpoteeside püstitamine ja kontrollimine (t ja F testid, ANOVA). Korrelatsioon- ja regressioonanalüüs, vähemruutude meetod. Järelduste sõnastamine, tulemuste vormistamine ja visualiseerimine, statistika tarkvara kasutamine. Õppeaine koosneb loengutest ning praktikumidest, kus õpitakse lahendama praktilise sisuga ülesandeid vastava tarkvara abil.

Measurment, the result of measurment, uncertainty of measurment in Chemistry (the main principles of measurments and uncertainty of measurment, ISO GUM and Nordtest methods for uncertainty assessment). Traceability. Validation and quality control. Measuring instruments. Calibration of measuring instruments. The main concepts of Theory of Probability and mathematical statistics and widely-spread distributions. Description and representativeness of statistical data. Hypotheses setting and controlling(t and F tests, ANOVA). Correlative and regressive analysis, Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. Wording of the conclusions, registering and visualization of the results, statistics software use. The course consists of lectures and practicum, where the practical tasks solving with the help of corresponding software is taught.
