- analüüsida mõtete ja arutluste loogilist aspekti
- kontrollida järelduste õigsust

To promote students’ skills in:
- critical thinking
- analysing the logical aspect of reasoning
- validity testing of the conclusions drawn
- arguing correctly from the point of view of logic

- Tudeng suudab (õppematerjalide ja algallikate põhjal) arutleda järgmistel teemadel: tunnetus ja teadmine, tõde, matemaatika ja loogika eripära, determinism
- Tudeng oskab:
- defineerida ja liigitada mõisteid;
- eristada analüütilisi otsustusi sünteetilistest;
- koostada tõeväärtustabelit;
- leida antud otsustusele (väitele) vasturääkivat otsustust, st eitada otsustust;
- eristada korrektseid küsimusi ebakorrektsetest;
- teha järeldusi antud eeldustest/eeldusest;
- eristada korrektset argumentatsiooni ebakorrektsest.

- Student can discuss following topics: knowledge, truth, peculiarity of mathematics and logic, determinism
- Student is able to:
- define and classify notions;
- distinguish between analytic and synthetic statements;
- build truth tables;
- formulate a proposition contradicting the given proposition;
- distinguish correct question from incorrect one;
- draw conclusions from premisses provided;
- distinguish between correct and incorrect argumentation.

Kursusel on kaks suuremat teemaderingi:
1. Filosoofilised eelteadmised: tunnetus ja teadmine, tõde, formaalteaduste (matemaatika ja loogika) eripära, determinism.
2. Loogika: mõiste, otsustus, küsimus, järeldamine (sh lausearvutus), argumentatsioon.
