Kursuse eesmärgiks on käsitleda erinevate internetis toimijate õigusi, kohustusi ja vastutust. Tegevusvälja - interneti - eripära põhjustab uusi spetsiifilisi õiguslikke probleeme ning selle kursuse eesmärgiks on nende probleemidega hakkama saamiseks õigussüsteemides arendatud põhiliste õigusinstituutide ja -käsitluste tundma õppimine. Kursuse raames keskendutakse ka internetis toimijate vahelisele lepingute võrgu analüüsile ja tutvustatakse internetis toimijate vahelisi põhilisi lepinguid.

The purpose of this course is to give an overview of rights, obligations and liability of actors on the internet. The particular nature of this field of interaction - the internet - introduces specific new legal problems and the purpose of this course is to get to know the main legal concepts and theories created in legal systems for addressing such problems. The course also concentrates on the analysis of contractual framework between internet actors and introduces main types of contracts used between actors on the internet.

Kursuse lõpuks üliõpilane:
- omab ülevaadet erinevate internetis toimijatega seotud põhilistest õiguslikest probleemidest;
- tunneb internetis toimijate vastutuse regulatsiooni põhiseisukohti;
- tunneb põhilisi internetis toimimiseks kasutatavaid lepinguid ja nendes kasutatavaid lepingulise regulatsiooni vahendeid;
- teab põhilisi internetis toimijate õigusi, kohustusi ja vastutust puudutavaid Euroopa Liidu õiguse ja rahvusvahelise õiguse allikaid ja oskab selliste allikatega iseseisvalt töötada.

By the end of the course the student:
- has an overview of main legal problems related to different actors on the internet;
- knows the main issues of liability regulation of internet actors;
- knows the main types of contracts used for acting on the internet and contractual mechanisms used in these contracts;
- knows the main sources of European Union law and international law which regulate the rights, obligations and liability of internet actors and is able to work independently with such sources.

Käesolev kursus keskendub õiguslikele probleemidele, mis on seotud internetis toimijatega. Internetis toimuvate tegevuste ampluaa areneb pidevalt ja see omakorda põhjustab tõsise küsimuse, kuidas peab toimuma õiguste, kohustuste ja vastutuse jaotus. Kursuse eesmärgiks on tutvustada seda mitmetahulist teemat ja anda üliõpilastele olemasolevad vahendid, mille abil otsustada erinevate internetis toimijate õigusliku staatuse üle vastavalt kehtivale õiguslikule raamistikule. Kursuse raames õpitakse ühtlasi tundma põhilisi lepinguid, millega internetis toimijad reguleerivad omavahelisi suhteid.

This course concentrates on legal issues which relate to actors on the internet. The range of activities on the internet is ever developing and this poses serious issues for determining the division of rights, obligations and liability. The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction into this complex issue and to equip students with currently available tools for determination of the legal status of different actors on the internet as is stipulated in current legal regulation. Within the framework of the course students will also learn to know the main contracts, which internet actors use for the regulation of their relationships with each other.

Eksami eesmärgiks on hinnata, kas üliõpilased on mõistnud, milliseid erinevaid internetis toimijate õiguslikke staatusi eristatakse hetkel õigussüsteemides; millised on nende põhiliste õiguslike staatustega seotud õigused, kohustused ja vastutus; milliseid lepinguid kasutavad internetis toimijad omavaheliste suhete reguleerimiseks ja milline on selliste lepingute põhisisu.

Written examination. The purpose of the examination is to assess whether the students have understood which different kinds of legal status of internet actors are currently acknowledged in legal systems; which rights, obligations and liability are connected with these main legal statuses; which contracts are used by the internet actors for the regulation of their relationships and which is the main content of such contracts.
