The goal of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge of how the main IT tools work at the level of electronics and physics.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- teab, kuidas toimib transistor ja kuidas paiknevad transistorid kiibil;
- on omandanud baasteadmised digitaalmälust ja erinevatest andmekandjatest (kettad, välkmälu jt);
- on omandanud baasteadmised digisignaalide edastamisest nii traadil, optilisel fiibril kui ka raadiolainetena;
- on omandanud baasteadmised erinevatest vooluallikatest (patareid, akud) ja IT-vahendite toitesüsteemidest.

Student:
- knows how a transistor works and how transistors are arranged on a chip;
- has a basic knowledge of digital memory and various data carriers (disks, flash memory, etc.);
- has basic knowledge of transmitting digital signals using wirer, optical fibres and radio waves;
- has basic knowledge of various power sources (batteries, accumulators) and power supply systems for IT equipment.
