Üliõpilane:
- omab baasteadmisi meditsiinilabori peamiste seadmete tööpõhimõtetest;
- tunneb meditsiinilaborite peamiste seadmete kasutamiseks vajalikke sisend- ja väljundparameetreid;
- teab, millised parameetrid on olulised seadme töö dokumenteerimiseks;
- omab ülevaadet meditsiinilaboris kasutatavatest lahendustest andmete analüüsil, esitamisel ja haldamisel.

- has acquired the fundamental knowledge about the functional principles of main devices utilized in clinical laboratories;
- is familiar with primary input- and output parameters of the main devices utilized in clinical laboratory;
- knows which are the most important parameters for documentation of functionality of the devices.
- has overview of the solutions for data analysis, representation and handling utilized in clinical laboratory.

Käsitletakse digitaalse meditsiinilabori:
- olulisemaid seadmeid, nende mõõtepõhimõtteid-meetodeid ja rakendusi mida rakendatakse meditsiinilaborite preanalüütilistes, analüütilistest ja postanalüütilistes protsessides. Õppeaine käigus käsitletakse järgmiste valdkondade seadmeid: tsentrifuugimine, pipeteerimine/doseerimine, proovijälgitavus, termostaadid (krüo-, ultra-, sügav-, ja tava külmikud, jahutusega- ja tava inkubaatorid), veepuhastus, koeprotsessorid, autoklaveerimine, temperatuurimõõtmine/monitoorimine, mikroskoopia ja kaamerasüsteemid, kaalumine, vedelik- ja gaaskromatograafia, mass-spektromeeteria, UV-, VIS- ja infrapuna spektromeetria, fluorestsents spektromeetria, aatomabsorptsioon-spektromeetria, nefelomeeter), induktiivseostunud-plasma, PCR, biokeemia-, immuun- ja hematoloogia- analüsaatorid, elektroforees, osmolaalsus, voolutsütomeeteria jpm.

- uusi arenguid laborisüsteemides.

Following topics will be covered:
- major devices in the clinical laboratory and their functioning principles, applications utilized in preanalytical, analytical and postanalytical processes. In the study program following devices will be covered: centrifugation, pipetting/dosing, sample tracking, thermostats (cryo-, ultra-, deep freezers; coolers, incubators with cooling and heating), water cleaning, tissue processors, autoclaves, temperature measurements/monitoring, microscope- and camera systems, weighting, liquid- and gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, UV-, VIS- and infrared spectroscopy, fluorescence spectrometry, atom absorption spectrometry, inductive coupled plasma atomic/optical emission spectrometry, PCR, biochemistry-, immunology- and hematology analyzers, electrophoresis, osmolality, flow cytometry etc;
- analysis and presentation of acquired data;
- management of data;
- developments in laboratory systems.

Hindamiseks peavad olema täidetud järgnevad eeldused: 1) mõlemad kontrolltööd peavad olema sooritatud vähemalt 51 punktile; 2) arvestatud peavad olema kõik laboratoorsed tööd; 3) koostatud ja ettekantud on referatiivne ettekanne. Eksamihinne moodustub kontrolltööde hinnetest.
