Anda biomeditsiinitehnika ja meditsiinifüüsika eriala üliõpilastele ettekujutus tulevase erialase töö spetsiifikast ja korralduslikest külgedest.

To present the specificity and management aspects of the future job to the students specializing in biomedical engineering and medical physics.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- tunneb meditsiini põhimõisteid ja meditsiini omapära;
- omab ülevaadet tervishoiu planeerimise, juhtimise ja korraldamise põhimõtetest,
- tunneb meditsiinitehnoloogia mõistet ja sellega seonduvat, meditsiinitehnoloogia korralduse struktuuri;
- omab teadmisi meditsiiniseadmete käitamiseks, tunneb eurodirektiive, Eesti õigusakte ja rahvusvahelisi standardeid seadmete tootmise, sertifitseerimise, hoolduse, kvaliteedikontrolli, ohutuse ja elektromagnetilise ühilduvuse kohta;
- tunneb haiglafüüsikute ja -inseneride rolli ja tööd, sealhulgas rahvusvahelises aspektis;
- tunneb meditsiinieetika aluseid.

After passing this course, the student:
- knows common terms in medicine and medical technology management;
- is able to describe general principles in medical technology management and medical technology assessment;
- knows conformity assessment requirements, legal acts and standards for medical devices;
- knows general principles and questions in biomedical ethics;
- is able to describe role of medical physicist and biomedical engineering in clinical environment.

Antakse ülevaade meditsiinist, selle organisatsioonist, meditsiinitehnika järelvalve ja sertifitseerimise korraldusest ja juriidilistest külgedest, aparatuuripoliitika korraldamisest meditsiiniasutustes. Käsitletakse ka meditsiini ja meditsiinitehnoloogiaga seotud eetilisi küsimusi.

The course gives a review of health care, the organization of medicine and surgery, the management and juridical aspects of the inspection and certification of medical devices, instrumentation policy in hospitals. Problems of ethics in medicine and medical technology are considered also.

Kirjalikul eksamil hinnatakse vastuseid kooskõlas õpiväljunditega. Mõlemad kontrolltööd peavad olema sooritatud vähemalt hindele E.
