The course aims to provide basic knowledge on the nature of human speech and methods of speech signal processing

- omab ülevaadet inimese kõnekommunikatsiooni olemusest ja uurimismeetoditest;
- tunneb olulisemaid kõnesignaalide analüüsi ja sünteesi põhimõtteid;
- tunneb kõnekorpuste loomise metoodikat ja kasutusvõimalusi;
- oskab rakendada kõnesignaalide akustilise analüüsi ja sünteesi meetodeid;
- tunneb kõne- ja kõnelejatuvastuse põhimõtteid ning rakendusi.

- is familiar with the nature of human speech communication and its research methods;
- knows essential principles of speech signal analysis and synthesis;
- is familiar with the methods of design, collection and use of speech corpora;
- can implement the methods of acoustic analysis and speech synthesis;
- is familiar with the principles and applications of speech and speaker recognition.

Digitaalne signaalitöötlus: A-D/D-A muundamine, filtreerimine
Kõnesignaalide salvestamine ja märgendus, kõnekorpuste metoodika ja kasutamine
Kõne akustiline analüüs: põhitooni analüüs, spektraalanalüüs, lineaarne kodeerimine (LPC)
Kõnesünteesi meetodid: artikulatoorne süntees, formantsüntees, difoonsüntees, korpus-põhine süntees, audio-visuaalne süntees

Segmental and prosodic features of speech, variability in speech
Digital signal processing: AD/DA conversion, filtering
Recording and annotation of speech signals, methods of design and use of speech corpora
Acoustic analysis of speech: fundamental frequency, spectral analysis, linear predictive coding (LPC)
Speech synthesis methods: articulatory, synthesis, formant synthesis, diphone synthesis, corpus-based synthesis, audio-visual synthesis
