Õppeaine edukal läbimisel üliõpilane:
- koostab töökava, IÕK, IAK, arvestades õppija uurimise käigus saadud tulemusi, õppekava nõudeid ja eeldatavaid õpitulemusi ning diferentseerib õpet oma töökavas;
- orienteerub olemasolevas õppevaras, kohandab olemasolevaid ja/või koostab nõuetekohaseid õppematerjale, arvestades ainekava sisu, õppija eripära ja intellektuaalse omandi kaitsmise seadust;
- selgitab välja õppija hoiakud, omandatud teadmised ja osaoskused ning täpsustab järgneva arendus-, õppe-, ja kasvatustegevuse;
- määrab ja sõnastab konkreetse teema, tundide ja töövõtete oodatavad õpitulemused, kaasab vajadusel eesmärkide seadmisse vanemaid ja teisi õppijaga seotud isikuid (õpetajad, terapeudid jt);
- kavandab õppeprotsessi, arvestades erivajadusega õppija isiksuse, tunnetustegevuse, kõne ja praktilise tegevuse iseärasusi, õppetegevuse korrektsioonilist suunitlust ja kontsentrilisuse põhimõtet;
- lõimib õppeaineid ning tegevusvaldkondi; planeerib õppetegevuse sisu, valib ja rakendab eripedagoogilisi võtteid;
- jälgib õppija arengut ja toimetulekut, motiveerib õppijat õppima, pakkudes huvitavaid ja elulisi jõukohaseid õppeülesandeid ja -tegevust;
- muudab ülesande raskusastet, kasutab toimivaid eripedagoogilisi õpetamise ja abistamise võtteid (nt algoritmiline õpe, materjaliseeritud tegevus, näitlikustamine, nende kombineerimine ja kasutamine) ning muudab end paindlikult;
- tagab õppija ainealaste pädevuste kujunemise põhikooli riikliku õppekava piires;
- toetab kolleege õppe- ja arendustegevuse etapiviisilisel läbiviimisel; annab vanematele soovitusi õppija õppetegevuse toetamiseks kodus.

Upon completing the course the student:
- prepares a work plan (differentiating teaching and instructions in it) and prepares an IEP (individual education plan) and an ICP (individual plan for subjects to be taught) taking into account the results of the student's observation, curriculum requirements and expected learning outcomes;
- is familiar with teaching resources, adjusts learning materials and/or makes suitable new materials considering the content of the curriculum, a learner's individual characteristics and the Intellectual Property Protection Act;
- identifies a learner's attitudes, acquired knowledge and skills, and specifies subsequent development, teaching and education activities;
- determines and formulates the expected learning outcomes of a specific topic, lessons and working methods, engages parents and other persons supporting the learner (teachers, therapists, etc.) in setting goals, if necessary;
- plans a learning process, considering the individual characteristics of a special-needs learner's personality, their cognitive activity, speech and physical activity, the corrective orientation of a study process and the principle of concentricity; integrates subjects and fields of activity;
- plans the content of study activities, chooses and applies techniques of special education;
- observes a learner's development and coping, motivates the learner to learn by providing interesting and relevant learning tasks and activities;
- adapts the level of difficulty of tasks, uses effective techniques of special education teaching and assistance (e.g. algorithmic learning, visualised activities, demonstration or a combination of these activities) and is flexible and willing to adjust techniques;
- ensures learners' development of subject competences within the scope of the national curriculum of basic school;
- supports colleagues in the level-based implementation of learning and development; provides parents with recommendations to support the learner's learning at home.

Üliõpilane saab ülevaate eripedagoogika korraldusest. Üliõpilane vaatleb erivajadustega õpilast, koostab individuaalse arengu jälgimise kaardi ja individuaalse õppekava. Samuti koostab või kohandab õppevara õpilase erivajadustele vastavalt.

Students gain an overview of the organisation of special education. Students observe a learner with special needs, prepare the learner's individual development observation card and an individual curriculum. They also prepare or adapt learning assets to a student's specific needs.
