The purpose of the subject is to support the development of an understanding of the nature of vocational didactics and the development of vocational teacher competencies for the science-based design of the learning environment in vocational education.

Õppeaine edukal läbimisel üliõpilane:
- mõistab kutsedidaktika olemust kutseõpetajatöö teoreetilise alusena;
- mõistab kutseõpetajatöö filosoofilisi ja haridusteoreetilisi lähtealuseid ning põhimõisteid;
- analüüsib oma pädevusi teaduspõhise õpikeskkonna kujundamiseks kutseõpetaja kompetentsusnõuete kontekstis;
- kavandab õppija kutseidentiteedi kujunemist toetava õpikeskkonna erialaõppes, tuginedes väljundipõhise kutsehariduse regulatiivsetele ja haridusteoreetilistele alustele;
- arvestab õpikeskkonna kujundamisel sihtrühma varasemaid õpikogemusi ja -vajadusi.

Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the nature of vocational didactics as the theoretical basis of vocational teacher's work;
- understands the philosophical and educational theoretical foundations and basic concepts of professional teaching;
- analyzes their competences in order to design a research-based learning environment in the context of the professional teacher's competence requirements;
- plans a learning environment that supports the development of the learner's professional identity in professional studies, based on the regulatory and educational theoretical foundations of output-based vocational education;
- takes into account the previous learning experiences and needs of the target group when designing the learning environment.
