Anda ülevaade materjalide biolagunemise põhjustest ja sõltuvusest materjalide ja mikroorganismide omadustest ning ümbritsevast keskkonnast. Käsitletakse materjalide biolagunemise kahju/kasu inimesele. Tutvustatakse erinevate materjalide liikide biokahjustusi mitmesugustes keskkondades, uurimismeetodeid ning analüüsitakse biokahjustuste tõrje efektiivsust ning mõju ümbristevale keskkonnale.

This course provides an overview on the topics of biodeterioration and relationship between microorganisms, materials and environment. Potential health hazard/ benefit for humans will be discussed as well as the analysis methods, prevention efficiency and its influence to the environment.

Õppurid omavad ülevaadet biolagunemise olemusest ja põhjustest ning seostest ümbritseva keskkonnaga; oskavad eristada põhilisi biolagunemise tüüpe ning biolagunemise mõju erinevatele materjalidele; tunnevad peamisi biokahjustuse tõrjemeetodeid ja nende mõju keskkonnale; tunnevad tüüpilisi uurimismeetodeid; saavad aru biokahjustajate ohust tervisele.

Puitmaterjalide biolagunemine. Tselluloosi sisaldavate materjalide biolagunemine. Plastide biolagunemine. Tekstiilide mikrobioloogia. Puidu kaitsmine biokahjustuste eest. Hallituse tõrjumine. Majaseente tõrjumine. Tõrjemeetmed. Mõju tervisele ja keskkonnale. Biokindlad materjalid: looduslikud, tehismaterjalid, nanotehnoloogilised lahendused.

Eradication of moulds. Eradication of house timber rot. Eradication methods and chemicals. Influence of eradication chemicals on the health and environment.
