Õppeaine eesmärk on anda:
- baasteadmised allmaarajatistest ja nende kasutamisest;
- baasteadmised mäerõhu prognoosi võimalustest erinevates tingimustes;
- baasteadmised ja -oskused allmaarajatiste projekteerimiseks, rajamiseks, korrashoiuks ning kasutamiseks;
- anda teadmised erineva otstarbega allmaarajatistele esitatavatest nõuetest.

The aim of this course is to give:
- basic knowledge about underground structures and use of them;
- basic knowledge of predicting the rock pressure in different engineering and geological conditions;
- basic knowledge and skills for design, construction , maintaining and exploitation of underground constructions;
- knowledge of specific tasks for different underground constructions.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- on omandanud teadmised ja oskused teadustulemuste ning kogemuste kasutamiseks allmaarajatiste rajamisel;
- kasutada ja hindab ülesannete lahendamisel vajalikke teatmematerjale ja aruandeid;
- on võimeline lahendama iseseisvalt allmaarajatiste rajamise ja kasutamisega seotud probleeme;
- on omandanud teadmised ja oskused allmaarajatise plaanimiseks, optimeerimiseks ning kasutatavate seadmete valikuks.

Allmaarajatised ja nende kasutamine. Kivimimassiivide omadused ning nende interpreteerimine. Peamised mäerõhu teooriad. Allmaarajatiste konstruktsioonilahendused ja erisused. Allmaarajatiste rajamise protsesside iseärasused võrreldes kaevandamisega. Allmaahoidlate rajamine. Tunnelite rajamine.
