VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Luua doktorandile ettekujutus kaasaegsetest meetoditest, mida kasutatakse bioanalüütikas. Käsitletakse kromatograafiat, elektroforeesi, molekulaarset äratundmist, massispektromeetriat ja nukleiinhapete ja proteiinide sekveneerimist, pinna plasmoonresonantsi, mikrofluidikat ja FRET tehnikat.
course aims in English
The aim is to create a doctorate's understanding of the various contemporary methods of bioanalytical chemistry: chromatography, electrophoresis, molecular recognition, mass spectrometry, sequencing of nucleic acids and proteins, surface plasmon resonance, microfluidics and FRET technique.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Doktorant:
- on saanud ettekujutuse olulisematest bioanalüüsi meetoditest mahus, mis lubab hinnata erinevate meetodite kasulikkust oma doktoritöö jaoks kasutada
- mõistab bioanalüütiliste meetodite rolli ja tähtsust bioteaduste arengus
- saab aru valkude kromatograafilise lahutamise ja massispektromeetrilise analüüsi ja massispektrite interpretatsiooni põhimõtetest.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
PhD student:
- has acquired understanding of the contemporary bioanalytical methods on the level that he/she can use them in his/her PhD work.
brief description of the course in Estonian
Kolm tähtsamat bioanalüütilise keemia valdkonda: spektroskoopia, analüütilised lahutusmeetodid ja immunotest. Lisaks käsitletakse uusimaid meetodeid, kasutades materjali teadusartiklitest. Võrreldakse spetsiifilisi analüüsimeetodeid konkreetsete aineklasside jaoks (ensüümid, aminohapped, karbohüdraadid, lipiidid, proteiinid ja nukleiinhapped).
brief description of the course in English
Three most important topics in bioanalytical chemistry will be covered: spectroscopy, analytical separation methods and immunoassay. In addition various new methods are described using material available from the literature. Specific methods of analysis of enzymes, carbihydrates, lipids and proteins will be covered.
type of assessment in Estonian
Eksami sooritamiseks peab doktorant esitama teadusettekande õppejõu poolt määratud teemal ja teatud arvu esseesid bioanalüütilistest meetoditest. Esseede tasemest sõltub lõplik hinne.
type of assessment in English
PhD student presents a talk on a topic given by the course instructor and number of essays on various bioanalytical topics. The level of essays and that of presentation will determine the final grade.
independent study in Estonian
Töö kirjandusega õppejõu soovitusel.
independent study in English
A study of papers on a given topic.
