Õppeaine eesmärk on anda doktorandile põhjalikud teadmised tema kitsal erialal, mille tulemusena valdab doktorant ammendavalt kogu oma kitsa eriala problemaatikat. Teisalt on aine eesmärk süvendada erialase kirjandusega töötamise oskust ja selle kaudu oskust kriitiliselt hinnata teiste teadlaste publikatsioone ning muud intellektuaalset loomet.

The purpose of the subject is to provide in-depth knowledge to PhD student in his/her specific field, which results exhaustive knowledge of problems by the student in his/her field. In addition, the purpose of the subject is to increase the student’s ability to work with professional publications so that he/she could identify cutting edge research topics in his/her field.

- on omandanud põhjalikud ja ammendavad erialaseid teadmised doktoritöö teemaga seotud valdkonnas;
