Aine eesmärk on anda insenerlik ülevaade vee-, õhu- ja raudteetranspordivahendite ehitusest ja ekspluatatsioonist ning kujundada tudengites arusaam transpordivahendite liikumisdünaamikast ja projekteerimise põhialustest ning ohutust ja otstarbekast rakendamisest.

The aim of this course is to give a technical overview of the design and exploitation principles of marine, aviation and railway vehicles, and educate students on the principles of motion, major design criterias, effective exploitation and safety of marine, aviation and railway vehicles..

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- kirjeldab põhiliste vee-, õhu- ja raudteetranspordivahendite ehitust;
- analüüsib vee-, õhu- ja raudteetranspordivahendite peamiste süsteemide tööpõhimõtteid ning rakendamist;
- hindab transpordivahendite liikumisdünaamika tähtsamaid kriteeriumeid;
- on omandanud baasteadmised transpordivahendite projekteerimisalustest;
- hindab transpordivahendite ohutust ja töökindlust;
- rakendab transpordivahendeid otstarbekalt.

After completing this course, the student:
- describes and analyses the basic design of marine, aviation and railway vehicles, incl. the main components, systems and exploitation principles;
- evaluates their primary technical characteristics and criteria;
- analyses and characterizes marine, aviation and railway vehicles safety;
- applies the efficiency criteria for optimal exploitation.

Veetranspordivahendid:
Sissejuhatus - veetransport, laevade ujuvus, üldehitus ja klassifitseerimine; laeva arhitektuur; laevade tehnilised omadused; laeva mereomadused ja liikumisdünaamika põhiseosed; laevade jõuseadmed ja süsteemid; Ülevaade laeva juhtimisest ja navigatsioonist merel; Veesõidu ohutus;
Õhutranspordivahendid:
Sissejuhatus – õhusõidukid ja lendamine, lennukite ehitus: lennuki tiib, telik, lennunduses kasutatavad mootorid, lennuki liikumisdünaamika põhiseosed ja kriteeriumid; Ülevaade lennuki juhtseadistest ja piloteerimisest;
Helikopteri ehitus ja liikumisdünaamika eripärad. Ülevaade helikopteri juhtseadistest ja piloteerimisest; Õhulaevandus; Lennuohutus.
Raudteetranspordivahendid:
Sissejuhatus – raudteetransport ja liikumine rööbastel; Vedurite ja vagunite üldehitus: ajamite erilahendused ja kontaktvõrk, alusvanker, kere, abiseadmed, rööbassõiduki liikumisdünaamika põhiseosed, rööbassõidukite ohutus.
Õppeaine praktikumi raames toimuvad kuni 4 transpordivahenditega tegeleva ettevõtte külastust, mille toimumisaeg ja koht määratakse semestri jooksul.

Marine transport:
Introduction to ships and shipping; the principles of ship design and classification of vessels, characteristics of ships; fundamentals of motion theory of vessels; propulsion- and other systems; principles of navigation; marine safety.
Aviation:
Introduction to aircraft and flight; The design, types and classification of airplanes; characteristics of airplanes; principles of motion theory of planes; propulsion- and other systems; overview of piloting and navigation; helicopters and airshipping; aviation safety.
Railway transport:
Introduction to railway transport and trains; the principles of train design and classification of railway vehicles, fundamentals of motion theory of rail vehicles; propulsion- and other systems; railway safety.

Õppeaine tulemus (hinne) määratakse: ettekande, praktilise töö aruande ja kirjaliku arvestustöö tulemuste põhjal.
