brief description of the course in Estonian
brief description of the course in English
The aim of the course is to give an understanding that design is a creative problem solving discipline. This course introduces the practice of industrial design, focusing on the process used by industrial designers. The course provides an overview of the methods and tools industrial design is utilising. The steps of the design process: problem identification, ideation, concept generation, form development and prototyping are introduced. Through the teamwork the students will produce a complete product design project with all main phases of product design. The focus is on establishing design methodology and actual creative product development. The course combines lectures and workshops with a hands-on exercise.
The student should demonstrate a basic understanding of the methodology used in industrial design after completing this course.
