course aims in Estonian
Õppimise käigus saadakse teadmisi:
- tootmise automatiseerimise põhimõistetest ja arengutrendidest;
- tööstus 4.0 selle olemus ja seos ettevõtlusega;
- tööstusrobotite olemusest, nende tehnoloogilistest võimalustest ja kasutamisvajadustest ettevõtetes;
- tööstusrobotite kasutamise olemusest ja otstarbekusest erinevates valdkondades: seadmete teenindamine, koostamine, keevitamine, pinnaviimistlus, tööoperatsioonide sooritamine, logistika,jms;
- robotite tööorganitest ja nende valiku ja kasutamise põhimõtetest;
- tööstusrobotite otstarbeka valiku metoodikast ja selle rakendamisest ettevõttes;
- robotiseeritud tehnoloogilistest süsteemidest, nende disaini põhimõtetest ja ühildatavusest tootmissüsteemiga;
- Robotiseeritud tehnoloogilise süsteemi alternatiivsete variantide hindamisest ja otsustusülesande lahendamisest
- kiiresti rekonfigureeritava tootmise põhimõtted ja kasutamisvajadus – partii suurus 1;
- robotiseerimise otstarbekuse hindamisest ja tasuvusarvutuste teostusest;
- robotiseerimise tulevikutrendidest.

During the studies students will get next knowledge:
- production automation main terms and development trends;
- Industry 4.0 and its influence to the company;
- basic about industrial robots, their technological capabilities and importance for the industry;
- industrial robots applications in the different fields of manufacturing: service of industrial equipment, assembly, welding, surface finishing, machining, shop-floor logistics, etc ;
- methods of selection of suitable industrial robot and these application in a company;
- robot-based manufacturing systems, their design main principles and their integration into a production;
- estimation principles of alternative solutions of robot-based manufacturing systems, performance analysis and decision making;
- main principles of fast reconfigurable manufacturing – lot size 1;
- estimation the need for using industrial robots in a company, economic calculations and break-even point;
- development trends in robotics.

Õppeaine positiivse tulemusega sooritanud üliõpilane:
- tunneb tootmise automatiseerimise vajalikkuse põhitegureid ning oskab neid hinnata;
- tunneb tööstusroboteid ja robot-tehnilisi süsteeme ja oskab lahendada valikuülesandeid;
- omab teadmisi tõõstusrobotite otstarbeka kasutamise aluste valdkonnas ja oskab neid rakendada tootmisülesannete lahendamisel;
- tunneb robot-tehniliste süsteemide disaini põhimõtteid ja oskab lahendada tootmise robotiseerimise ülesandeid;
- tunneb otstarbeka majandamise aluseid ja omab teadmisi majanduslikult põhjendatud valikute tegemiseks.

The student who has accomplished the course with a positive result:
- knows and is able to analyse the need for automation;
- knows industrial robots, these main parts and robot-based manufacturing systems; have the knowledge to set up alternative variants and to solve the decision making tasks for manufacturing tasks;
- knows the basic rules for effective utilization of industrial robots and have knowledge to use this for production planning and for solving manufacturing tasks;
- knows the main design rules and principles for developing robot-based systems in a manufacturing plant;
- have knowledge about the efficiency of manufacturing and knows how to make economically useful decisions.

Robotid tööstuses – mis, milleks ja kuidas. Põhimõisted ja arengusuunad. Tööstus 4.0 vahetu seos tööstusrobotite arenguga. Tööstusrobotite klassifitseerimine ja nende põhilised tehnoloogilised võimalused. Ülevaade tööstusrobotite tootjatest ja nende toodangust. Olemasolevad ühisosad ja eripärad. Tööstusrobotite otstarbeka valiku põhimõtted. Robotiseeritud tehnoloogilise süsteemi kavandamine ettevõttes. Tööstusrobotite optimaalne kasutamine ettevõttes (paigaldus ja seadistus, rakistus, programmeerimine, integratsioon ettevõtte tootmissüsteemiga). Robot-tehnilised süsteemid ja nende kasutamine erinevate tootmisülesannete täitmiseks (logistika ja laosüsteemid, seadmete teenindamine, keevitamine, pinnakatete paigaldamine, koostamine, jms). Efektiivsuskriteeriumid ja nende mõõtmine. Tööorganid tööstusrobotite funktsionaalsuse tõstmiseks. Kiiresti rekonfigureeritava tootmise põhiolemus. Robotiseeritud süsteemide kuluefektiivsuse ja tasuvusaja arvutused. Tulemuslikkuse juhtimise põhiolemus ja kasutamine ettevõttes.

Main principles of robotics in manufacturing, basic terms and trends. Industry 4.0 and industrial robots. The classification of industrial robots and their technological capabilities. Manufactures of industrial robots and their product nomenclature. Basic of selection of industrial robots. Optimal utilization of industrial robots in manufacturing (installation, fixtures, programming, integration). Basic for design of robot-based manufacturing system in a company. Robot-based manufacturing systems and their efficient utilization for different possibilities (loading-unloading, logistics, welding, machining, surface finishing, assembly). Performance indicators and their measuring. End-effector systems for industrial robots. Reconfigurable manufacturing basic principles. Cost-efficiency calculations, break-even point and performance management.

Eksami eeldus: kuus (6) juhtumi- ja probleemipõhist ülesannet, millest 3 lahendatakse meeskonnatööna ja 3 individuaaltööna. Ülesannete esitus on kirjalikult ja ettekanded presentatsioonidena. Vajaduspõhiselt kirjalik eksam.

Examination prerequisite: six (6) case-based and problem-based tasks from which, 3 would be made as teamwork and 3 homeworks as individual works. Written exam if needed.

- kinnistada auditoorselt läbivõetud materjali iseseisva mõtestatud tegevusega;
- omandada vilumusi tööstusrobotite ja robot-tehniliste süsteemide valiku ning otstarbeka kasutamise põhimõtete rakendamiseks tootmises aga samuti teadmisi robot-tehniliste süsteemide kavandamises nende kasutamiseks tootmisülesannete täitmisel.
Iseseisva töö sisu ja maht:
- kuus (6) kodutööd kursuse erinevatel teemadel – 52 tundi,
- ettevalmistus esitlusteks – 24 tundi.

Goals of individual work:
- to deepen the knowledge developed in lectures and seminars by individual work,
- to develop skills of solving practical problems of design and implementation of robot-based systems in manufacturing.
Content and volume of individual work:
- six (6) homeworks on different course topics – 52 hours,
- preparation for written test – 24 hours.
