Õpetusega taotletakse, et õppija omandab teadmised grupiprotsesside ja meeskondliku juhtimise põhiprintsiipide kohta, parandab oma oskusi analüüsida grupiprotsesse, hinnata grupi efektiivsust ning juhtida liikmete ja grupi vastasmõjusid. Kursusel on kolm teemade keset:
- gruppide kujunemine ja grupiprotsessid
- grupitöö meetodid
- meeskondade olemus ja meeskondlik juhtimine.
Kursus sisaldab ka meeskonnatöö harjutusi, et anda üliõpilasele oskusi töötada meeskonnas.


course aims in English
The aim of the course is to give students a comprehensive understanding of main principles of team work and team management and to improve their analytic abilities in understanding the behaviour of individuals and groups in organizations and skills for enhancing team effectiveness. There are three main subjects in the course:
- group processes and group developing
- methods of group work
- the nature of teams and leading by principles of team work
Course also focuses on helping student to learn how to best work as a team member, activities of this kind will be held.

Kursuse läbimisel õppija:
1. teab meeskonnatöö ja meeskonna juhtimise teooriaid ja kontseptsioone;
2. mõistab grupi dünaamikat ja üksikisiku ja grupi vastasmõjusid;
3. oskab hinnata meeskonnatöö tähtsust organisatsioonis ja on omandanud efektiivsete meeskondade loomise oskused;
4. on omandanud oskused rakendada erinevaid tehnikaid ja teooriaid meeskonna paremaks juhtimiseks;
5. mõistab mitmekultuuriliste meeskondade tegevuse ja juhtimise väljakutseid;
6. on parandanud tõhusa kommunikatsiooni, meeskondliku otsustamise ja konfliktide lahendamise oskusi.

On completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. understand theories and concepts of leadership and teamwork in organizations,
2. understands the dynamics between the individual, the team, and the group;
3. appreciate the importance of teamwork and learn the skills of building effective teams
4. acquire the techniques to apply theories and concepts to improve leadership skills,
5. understands the challenges of managing and working in multicultural teams
6. develop skills in effective communication, decision making and conflict resolution.

Gruppide kujunemine, nende tunnused ja jagunemine. Gruppides tekkivad psühholoogilised nähtused. Grupimõtlemine. Grupi eesmärgid, normid ja sanktsioonid. Grupi piirid. Grupi arengufaasid. Psychological phenomena in groups. Groupthink. Group goals, norms and sanctions. Group fault-lines. Group developmental stages. Group cohesiveness. Group diversity. Group members’ roles. Co-ordination and co-operation. Leadership styles. Group as subject of decision-making. Methods of team-work. Group communications and conflict management. Group influence on personality. Efficiency of team-work. Forming of teams. Virtual teams. Principles of teamwork. Shared leadership. Team empowerment. Self-managed teams. Creative teams. Multi-cultural teams and acculturation.

Aine lõpeb kokkuvõtva hindamisega, mis kujuneb üliõpilase iseseisva grupianalüüsi (60%) ja kirjaliku eksami (40%) põhjal
Eksamile pääsemise eelduseks on osavõtt harjutustundidest ning nõuetekohase iseseisva töö esitamine.

Graded evaluation will be used.
The final grade is formed of the results of two independent tasks: Written exam (40%) and Independent written work (60%)
The prerequisites to pass the exam will be: taking part in the practical lessons and positive evaluation of group analysis.

Kursuse lõpuks esitab üliõpilane ühe reaalse töögrupi analüüsi, mis koosneb järgmistest komponentidest: grupi koosseis, rollide jaotus, normide ja sanktsioonide analüüs, grupi arengustaadium, grupikultuur ja juhtimine, otsustamise ja grupitöö meetodite kasutamine, grupitöö efektiivsuse analüüs, grupi edasine arenguperspektiiv .

In the end of the course students would prepare the real group analysis, which would consist of following parts: group structure, group members’ roles, norms and sanctions, group developmental stage, group culture and management, group decision making and group work methods, group effectiveness analysis, group perspective.
