To give the practical knowledge on material, process selection and strengthening selection for given part/component
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
- oskab analüüsida toote/detaili töötingimusi;
- oskab luua materjalide valiku kriteeriume detaili/toote nõutava vastupidavuse/tööea alusel;
- oskab luua valmistustehnoloogia valiku kriteeriume detaili/toote partii suuruse, kuju, pinnaviimistluse ja massi alusel;
- oskab töötada materjali ja tehnoloogia andmebaasidega (käsiraamatud,
arvutiprogramm CES EduPack);
- suudab rakendada teadmisi detailile/tootele põhjendatud materjali, tehnoloogia ja tugevdustehnoloogia valikul.

- is able to create process selection criterias based on part/component production size, shape, surface finish and mass;

Materjali valiku kriteeriumid: konstruktsioonitugevus (tugevus, jäikus, töökindlus, tööiga), tehnoloogilisus, hind, korduvkasutus jt. Materjali/detaili tugevdav tehnoloogia: läbi- ja pindkarastus, termokeemiline töötlus, pindamine, muud pinnatugevdamis-tehnoloogiad. Viimistlev pinnatehnoloogia: galvaan-, värv-, lakk- jm. dekoratiivsed pinded. Tüüpdetailide (hammasrattad, võllid, korpused, vedrud jt.) materjali ja tugevdava tehnoloogia valik. Toorikute tootmine: valutoorikud, sepised, keevis- ja kombineeritud toorikud, kiireprototüüpimise meetodid, plastikute töötlemine. Kodutöö: ühe detaili/toote materjali ja valmistamise tehnoloogia põhjendatud valik.

Selection criteria of materials: structural strength (tensile properties, stiffness, service properties), manufacturability, cost, recycling etc. Strengthening technology of material/product: through and surface hardening, thermal-chemical treatment, coating, other surface strengthening technologies. Finish treatment: galvanic, paint, lacquer and other decorative coatings. Material, process and strengthening technology selection. Case studies (gears, shafts, casings, springs etc.). Production of workpieces: castings, forgings, welds and combined semi-products. Homework: argumented selection of material and manufacturing process for part/component.
