Üliõpilane:
- saab aru säästva ehitusmaterjali tootmise ja kasutamise põhimõtetest;
- tunneb kõiki peamisi ökoloogilisi seina- katuse-, põranda- ja soojustusmaterjale;
- tunneb reovee käitlemise ja vee säästva kasutamise põhimõtteid;
- teab, kuidas tuleb käituda ehitamisel ja lammutamisel tekkivate jäätmedega sh ohtlike jäätmetega;
- tunneb passiivmajade konseptsiooni;
- tunneb kõiki taastuvenergia allikaid ja oskab neid omavahel võrrelda.

- understands manufacture or use principles of sustainable building materials;
- knows all major ecological wall, roof, floor and insulation materials;
- knows wastewater and water sustainable treatment principles;
- knows how to treat waste coming from building process and after demolition including hazardous waste;
- knows conception of passive house. Knows and is able to compare all greenpower sources.

Loodussõbraliku ja -säästliku ehitamise põhimõtted. Konstruktsioonides kasutatavad materjalid ja nende iseloomustus: puit, savi, põhk, turvas jne. Saviehitiste ajalugu maailmas ja Eestis. Kohalikud soojustus- ja katusekattematerjalid. Loodussõbralikud kütte- ja õhutussüsteemid.

The principles of environmentally friendly and sustainable building. Materials (wood, clay, straw, peat etc.) used in constructions, their characteristics. The history of clay buildings in the world and Estonia. Local insulation and roofing materials. Environmentally friendly heating and ventilation systems.
