VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Selle kursuse eesmärk on anda üliõpilastele süstemaatiline ülevaade rahvusvaheliste suhete eri valdkondadest, rakendades selle valdkonna juhtivaid teooriaid. Samuti uuritakse rahvusvaheliste suhete kaasaegseid küsimusi rahvusvahelistes suhetes, kusjuures mõistet „kaasaegne“ kasutatakse laiemalt, hõlmates olulisi arenguid alates 20. sajandist, mitte keskendudes ainult päevakajalistele sündmustele.
course aims in English
This course aims to provide students with a systematic overview of the various subfields of international relations, applying prevailing theories in the discipline. It also explores contemporary issues in international affairs, adopting a broad understanding of the term 'contemporary' to include significant developments since the 20th century rather than focusing solely on current events.

brief description of the course in Estonian
brief description of the course in English
The course addresses the main problems of the post-Cold War world politics within the framework offered by the main theories of international relations. Besides events and processes, the attempts to make sense of the deeper tendencies and probable future scenarios of world politics are discussed. While the focus is on political processes, other subfields of international relations - international economy, cultural conflicts, ecological and social problems and their impact on politics - are addressed as well.
