Aine eesmärk on:
- süvendada teadmisi ühe muutuja funktsioonide diferentsiaalarvutusest;
- näidata diferentsiaalalarvutuse võimalikke rakendusi praktikas;
- anda ühe muutuja funktsiooni integraalarvutuse teoreetilised alused;
- anda algteadmised diferentsiaalvõrranditest;
- anda teoreetilised alused lineaarsete võrrandisüsteemide, maatriksite, determinantide ja vektorruumide teooriale;
- õpetada lahendama mainitud teooriaga seotud põhilisi ülesandeid;
- harjutada üliõpilasi matemaatilise mõtlemise ja sümboolikaga.
course aims in English
The aim of this course is to:
- deepen students knowledge of differential calculus functions of one (real) variable;
- show the possible applications of the theory mentioned above;
- give the theoretical base of integral calculus for functions of one variable;
- give elementary knowledge on differential equations;
- give theoretical foundations for the theory of systems of linear equations, matrices, determinants;
- teach to solve main problems of the theory mentioned above;
- make the students accustomed with the mathematical thinking and symbolism.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- leiab jada ja funktsiooni piirväärtust ning uurib funktsiooni pidevust;
- leiab funktsiooni tuletisi ja diferentsiaale;
- kasutab funktsiooni piirväärtust ja tuletisi funktsiooni uurimisel;
- leiab lihtsamaid määramata ja määratud integraale;
- tunneb lihtsamate diferentsiaalvõrrandite põhiliike ja oskab neid lahendada;
- teostab tehteid maatriksitega (lineaarsed tehted, korrutamine, transponeerimine, pöördmaatriksi ja astaku leidmine);
- lahendab lineaarseid võrrandisüsteeme, esitab neid maatrikskujul;
- leiab determinandi väärtust ja sõnastab determinantide olulisemad omadused;
- sooritab tehteid vektoritega;
- testib praktiliste ülesannete lahendamisel saadud tulemuste õigsust.

After completing this course the student:
- finds the limit of sequence and function, also investigates continuity of function;
- finds derivatives and differentials;
- uses limit and derivatives of function in investigation of function;
- finds simple indefinite and definite integral;
- knows the main types of simple differential equations and finds their solutions;
- carries out matrix operations (linear operations, multiplication, transposition, finding of the inverse and the rank);
- presents a system of linear equations in the matrix form and finds its solutions;
- finds the value of a determinant and knows the main properties of determinants;
- checks the correctness of results obtained by solution of practical exercises.
