Aine eesmärk on:
- anda mitme muutuja funktsiooni diferentsiaal- ja integraalarvutuse teoreetilised alused;
- anda algteadmised diferentsiaalvõrranditest;
- esitada arv- ja funktsionaalridade põhiprobleemide praktilised rakendused;
- õpetada lahendama mainitud teooriaga seotud põhilisi ülesandeid;
- harjutada üliõpilasi matemaatilise mõtlemise ja sümboolikaga.

The aim of this course is to:
- give the theoretical base of differential and integral calculus for functions of several variables;
- give elementary knowledge on differential equations;
- give knowledge about the theory of functional series and their applications;
- teach to solve main problems of the theory mentioned above;
- make the students accustomed with the mathematical thinking and symbolism.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- leiab mitme muutuja funktsiooni piirväärtust ja uurib selle funktsiooni pidevust;
- leiab mitme muutuja funktsiooni osatuletisi ja täisdiferentsiaale;
- oskab uurida mitme muutuja funktsiooni ekstreemume;
- leiab kahekordseid, kolmekordseid integraale joon- ja pinnaintegraale;
- tunneb lihtsamate diferentsiaalvõrrandite põhiliike ja oskab neid lahendada;
- oskab uurida astmeridade koonduvust, arendada funktsiooni astmeritta ja kasutada astmeridu rakendustes;
- oskab arendada funktsiooni Fourier' ritta, leida funktsiooni Fourier' teisendust ning kasutada Fourier' ridu ja Fourier' teisendusi;
- testib praktiliste ülesannete lahendamisel saadud tulemuste õigsust.

Having finished the study of the subject a student:
- determines the limit of a multivariable function and analyzes its continuity;
- finds partial derivatives and total differentials of a multivariable function;
- investigates extremums of multivariable function;
- finds double, triple, line and surface integrals;
- knows the main types of simple differential equations and is able to find their solutions;
- analyzes the convergence of power series, expands a function into a power series, and applys power series in various applications;
- finds Fourier-series expansions, Fourier transforms of function and to apply Fourier series and transforms;
- checks the correctness of results obtained by solution of practical exercises.

Taylori valem. Ekstreemumid. Kahekordsed integraalid ja nende arvutamine. Muutujate vahetus kordses integraalis. 1. liiki joonintegraal, 1. liiki pindintegraal. Diferentsiaalvõrrandi mõiste. Lihtsamad esimest järku diferentsiaalvõrrandid. Erikujuliste kõrgemat järku diferentsiaalvõrrandite lahendamine. Konstantsete kordajatega lineaarsete diferentsiaalvõrrandite. Astmeread. Notion of function of several variables. Limit and continuity. Partial derivatives. Tangent plane to a surface and perpendicular line. Differentiation of composite function. Partial derivatives of implicit function. Total differential. Extremums. Double and triple integrals, their properties and evaluation. Transformations of multiple integrals. Line and surface integrals. Simple differential equations of the first order. Some special differential equations of the higher order. Second order linear equation with constant coefficients. Power series. Fourier' series. Taylor’ series. Fourier' transforms. Mathematical software.
