Anda teadmised ja praktilised oskused mereside valdkonnas vastavalt STCW-78, koos muudatustega A- IV/2. Informatsiooni edastamine ja vastuvõtt GMDSS alasüsteemide ja seadmete abil. Õpetada GMDSS funktsionaalsete nõuete täitmist.

- teab ja oskab kasutada kõigi GMDSS alasüsteemide ehituse üld põhimõtteid ja nende tööd
- teab SOLAS konventsiooni aluseid ja nõudmisi mere raadioside kohta ( IV peatükk)
- teab ja rakendab IMO ja ITU nõudeid raadioside ja ohutuse tagamiste kohta.
- oskab kasutada GMDSS seadmeid vastavalt olukorrale ja vajadusele, seejuures ka ekstreemsetes tingimustes
- oskab pidada sidet inglise keeles raadiotelefoni ja tähttrükkimise (NBDP) režiimis
- oskab kasutada rahvusvahelisi teatmeteoseid

    ASSESSMENT METHOD
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION
    a) The theoretical examination consist of multiple choice questionnaire with 30 questions. To get a positive mark, student must select at least 24 correct answers equal to 24 points.
    The final mark of test depends on points as follows:
    24 points – 1 (Poor); 25 points – 2 (Satisfactory); 26 points – 3 (Good); 27-28 points – 4 (Very good); 29-30 points – 5 (Excellent).
    b) The practical examination using GMDSS simulator consist of exercises with all radio equipment and should be performed with a „success“ results.
