The general objective of the subject is to give students the knowledge and proficiency in installation of ships electrical equipment, that are needed to work as an officer in charge of an engineering watch on a motor ship in accordance with requirements of part A Ch. III Section A-III/6 of STCW-78, as amended.

Õppija peab
teadma:
• elektrimaterjale, nende omadusi ja valiku aluseid;
• elektriseadmete paigaldamise töövõtteid;
• ohutustehnika, tule- ja elektriohutuse nõudeid paigaldamisel ja ekspluatatsioonis;
oskama:
• valida töötlemisviisi ja tööriistu vastavalt monteeritavatele elektriseadmetele ja materjalidele;
• koostada etteantud skeemide ja IEC nõuete kohaselt töötavad lülitused;
• kasutada mõõteriistu.

Kollektormootorid. Kolmefaasilise mootori reversiivlülitus.Trafode ja mootorite kontrollimine. Selsüünide lülitusskeem. Kahefaasilise mootori võimalikud ühendusskeemid. Kolmefaasiline mootor ühefaasilises võrgus. Alalisvoolu elektrikella toide vahelduvvooluahelast. Erinevad kaitsesüsteemid. Pingeresonants ja vooluresonants. Valgustusvõrgu montaaž skeemi järgi. Rikete otsimine elektrisüsteemis. Lihtsamad tööd pingestatud seadmes.
