Õppeaine üldeesmärk on anda õppijale vajalikud teadmised ja oskused laevakere ja mehhanismide remondi ja hooldustööde tegemiseks ja juhtimiseks vastavalt STCW-78 koos lisadega nõuetele.

The general objective of the subject is to give students the knowledge and proficiency needed to perform and manage repair and maintenance of ship’s hull and machinery in accordance with STCW 1978, as amended.

Üliõpilane:
• teab laevaseadmete, süsteemide ja laevakere tüüpiliste vigastuste ja defektide liike, tekkepõhjusi ning nende määramise meetodeid;
• tunneb laeva veealuse osa, rooliseadme ja sõukruvi enamesinevaid rikkeid ja nende kõrvaldamise viise, üldnõudeid laeva ettevalmistamiseks dokkimiseks ja vettelaskmiseks pärast dokkimist;
• teab ja järgib laeva jõuseadmete, abimehhanismide ja süsteemide defekteerimise, lahtivõtmise remondi, koostamise ja paigaldamise põhinõudeid;
• teab ja oskab kasutada kulunud detailide taastamisvõimalusi ja -tehnoloogiaid ning remondijärgse katsetamise nõudeid ja meetodeid;
• teab remondidokumentatsiooni liike ja nende koostamise aluseid.
• oskab hinnata laevakere ja mehhanismide tehnilist seisukorda ja remondivajadust;
• valib sobivaid tehnoloogiaid konkreetsete defektide kõrvaldamiseks;
• määrab varuosade, materjalide ja töövahendite vajadust;
• oskab kõrvaldada mehhanismide ja süsteemide lihtsamaid defekte ja koostada remondinimekirju, mõõdistamis-kaarte jt remondiga seonduvaid dokumente.

The students will
Know:
- classes, originate reasons and methods of determing of typical damages and defects of ship’s machinery, systems and hull;
- typical damages and faults and repair methods of submerged part fo hull, rudder and propeller; general requirements of ship’s preparing before drydocking and launching;
- general requirements of determing of defects, dismantling, repair, putting together and mounting of ship’s main and auxiliary machinery and systems;
- possibilities and technologies for restoration of weared details;
- requirements and methods of testing and trials after performing of repairs;
- classes and basics of compiling of shiprepair documentation;
be able
- to evaluate condition and necessity of repair of ship’s hull and machinery;
- to choose suitable technologies for removing concrete defects;
- to estimate necessity of spare parts, materials and working means;
- to remove simple malfunctions of machinery and systems;

Laeva ja seadmete remondi liigid ja meetodid. Plaanilis-ennetuslik ja tegelikul seisukorral põhinevad remondisüsteemid. Tehaseremont ja selle liigid. Remont meeskonna jõududega.
Laevakere ja mehhanismide kulumine ja selle põhjused. Defektide liigitamine tekkepõhjuse ja iseloomu järgi. Defektide kindlaksmääramise meetodid. Visuaalne kontroll, mõõtmine, mittepurustavad defekteerimismeetodid. Defektide leidmine kaudsete tunnuste järgi. Laevakere tüüpilised defektid. Deformatsioonide ja seinapaksuse mõõtmine. Deformatsioonide õgvendamine termiliselt ja mehaaniliselt. Kereplaadistiku defektsete osade asendamine. Keevitamise ja termilise lõikamise tehnoloogiate valik. Keevisliidete kvaliteedi kontroll. Laeva diiselmootorite, katelde, turbiinide, abimehhanismide ja võlliliini defekteerimise, demontaaži ja koostamise üldnõuded. Detailide puhastamine. Diiselmootorite silindrikaaned koos klappidega, kolvigrupp, silindrihülsid, laagrid, väntvõll, mootoriplokk, kütuseaparatuur – defektid ja remont. Väntvõlli seisukorra määramine kaelte mõõtmise ja telje sirgsuse kontrolli teel. Kolvigrupi tsentreerimine. Malmdetailide vigastuste parandamine.
Katlad ja turbiinid. Katla tehnilise seisukorra hindamine ja defektide määramine. Katlatorude vahetamine. Koldemüüritise remont. Turbiinide defektide määramine. Rootorite, tihendite ja laagrite remont; staatiline ja dünaamiline tasakaalustamine. Pumpade, kompressorite, ventilaatorite ja separaatorite tüüpilised rikked ja nende kõrvaldamine. Mehhanismide koostamine ja reguleerimine. Mehhanismide paigaldamine vundamentidele ja tsentreerimine. Võlliliini defektid. Võlliliini demontaaž . Võllikaelte remont, äärikuavade töötlemine. Võlliliini montaaž ja tsentreerimine teljenihete, murdenurkade järgi ja koormuste järgi kandelaagritel. Dokiseadmed - liigid ja tööpõhimõte. Kuiv- ja ujuvdokid. Rooliseadme ja sõukruvi tüüpilised defektid ja nende kõrvaldamine.

Classes and systems of repair of ship’s hull and equipment. Planned- predictive and condition based shiprepair systems. Repair at shipyard and by ship’s crew.
Wearing and it’s reasons of ship’s hull and machinery. Classification of defects by originating causes and character. Determination methods of defects. Visual observation, measuring and physical nondestructive methods. Fault finding by indirect symptoms. Typical defects of ship’s hull. Measuring of deformation and plting thickness. Thermal and cold straightening of deformations. Replacing of defective parts of hull. Choosing of welding and thermal cutting technologies. Checking of quality of welding joints. General requirements of defect finding, dismounting and dismantling of diesel engines, boilers, turbines, auxiliary machinery and shaftline. Cleaning of details. Typical defects and repair of cylinder cover with valves, piston group, cylinder liner, bearings, crankshaft, engine farme, high pressure fuel apparatus of diesel engines. Determing condition of crankshaft by measuring of journals and straightness of axis by crank deflections. Alignment of piston group. Repair methods of engine parts damages, made of cast iron. Boilers and turbines. Evaluation of condition and determination of defects. Replacing of boiler tubes. Repair of furnace brickwork. Repair of blading, sealings and bearings of turbine rotors; static and dynamic balancing. Pumps, compressors, ventilators and separators. Typical malfunctions and methods of removing. Assembling and adjusting of. Mounting on the foundation and alignment. Dismantling of shaftline. Repair of shaft journals, calibration of flange holes. Assembling of shaftline and alignment by dislocations and breaking angles between shaftline parts’ axes and loadings to plain bearings.
