The general objective of the subject is to give students the knowledge about materials used in electrical systems and devices in accordance with Section A-III/6
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Õppija peab teadma:
- materjalide liigitamist juhtideks, pooljuhtideks ja dielektrikuteks
- faktoreid, mis mõjutavad elektri-juhtivust
- vase omadusi ja kasutamist elektrotehnikas
- ülijuhtivuse mõistet, ülijuhtide liigitamist ja kasutusvaldkondi
- pooljuhtide liigitamist, omadusi ja kasutusvaldkondi
- dielektrilise konstandi mõistet
- laevadel kasutatavaid dielektrilisi materjale
- üldkasutatavaid magnetilisi materjale ja nende omadusi
- jääkmagnetismi ja hüstereesise mõisteid
- Magnetilise konstandi ja Curie temperatuuri mõisteid
Õppija peab oskama:
- arvutada antud eritakistuse väärtusel juhtme takistust erinevatel läbimõõtudel ja pikkustel
- arvutada antud temperatuuriteguri väärtusel takistuse väärtusi erinevatel temperatuuridel
- valida etteantud tingimustele vastava isolatsiooniga kaableid

The student has aquired knowledge of:
- classification of materials to conductors, semiconductors and insulators
- factors which govern the conductivity
- properties of copper and its application in electrical engineering
- term"superconductor" and its general properties
- classification, properties and application of semiconductors
- term of "dielectric constant"
- commondielectrics used ships and their applications
- common magnnetic materials and their properties
- sense of terms "residual magnetism", hysteresis loop""magnetic constant" and "Curie temperatuure"
The student is able:
- to calculate at given value of resistivity approximate resistance of conductors of vaious diameeter and lenght
- to calculate at given value of temperatuure coefficient resistance of conductor in various temperatuures
- to choice the materials of cable insulation and sheath

Elektrotehniliste materjalide liigitamine juhtideks, pooljuhtideks ja dielektrikuteks. Faktoreid, mis mõjutavad elektrijuhtivust. Vase omadused ja kasutamine elektrotehnikas.
Ülijuhtivuse mõiste, ülijuhtide liigitamine ja kasutusvaldkonnad.
Pooljuhtide liigitamine, omadused ja kasutusvaldkonnad.
Dielektrilised materjalid, dielektrilise konstandi mõiste ja laevadel kasutatavad dielektrilised materjalid.
Üldkasutatavad magnetilised materjalid ja nende omadused. Jääkmagnetismi ja hüstereesise mõisted. Magnetilise konstandi ja Curie temperatuuri mõisted
Juhtme takistust arvutamine antud eritakistuse väärtusel juhtme erinevatel läbimõõtudel ja pikkustel.
Takistuse väärtuste arvutamine antud temperatuuriteguri väärtusel erinevatel temperatuuridel.
