to check students’ knowledge and skills in the final examination subjects and to assess their readiness for entering the labour market as engineer officers in charge of an engineering watch on the ships of unlimited propulsion power as required by STCW 78 as amended

Üliõpilane
• tunneb laeva elektriseadmete tööpõhimõtteid, otstarvet ja ehitust vastavalt STCW 78 koos lisadega nõuetele
• orienteerub laeva elektriseadmete tööprotsesside teoreetilistes alustes tunneb laevaseadmete ekspluatatsiooni aluseid ja oskab tegutseda eriolukordades
• teab laeva elektriseadmete tüüpilisi rikkeid, oskab neid identifitseerida väliste tunnuste ning mõõteriistade abil ning teab tegutsemisjuhiseid nende ilmnemisel
- leida rikete põhjusi elektri- ja elektroonikasüsteemide skeemide kaudu
- praktiliselt kasutada mõõteriistu ja testimisseadmeid
- tõlgendada elektriliste parameetrite mõõtmiste ning testimiste tulemusi ning hinnata nende alusel süsteemide seisukorda
- kõrvaldada tüüpilisi rikkeid ja kontrollida süsteemide korrasolekut pärast rikke kõrvaldamist
- teab laevamehhanismide automaatjuhtimissüsteemide ehitust ja kasutamist.

• know the operational principles, function and construction of marine electrical equipment as required by STCW 78 as amended
• have basic theoretical knowledge of the operational processes of electrical equipment, and basic knowledge of operating shipboard equipment and know how to act in emergency situations
• be familiar with the typical malfunctions of marine electrical equipment, be able to identify these on the basis of external characteristics and use measuring instruments and know the procedures for responding to resulting data
- to find causes of malfunctions using diagrams of electrical and electronic systems
- to use practically measuring instruments and testing equipment
- to interprete the results of measuring electrical parametres testings and evaluate on basis of results condition of systems
- to remove or repair typical malfunctions and check the condition of systems or equipment after repairs
- knows Construction and Operation of Control Systems of Ship’s Machinery and Systems.
