Õppeaine eesmärk on anda õppijale vajalikud teadmised laeva pea- ja abimasinate, abimehhanismide, teki,-lastikäitlemise-,ja hotelliseadmete automaatiika ja juhtimissüsteemide hooldusest ja remondist vastavalt STCW-78 koos lisadega A-III/6 nõuetele.

The general objective of the subject is to give students the knowledge of maintenance and repair, construction and operation of automation and control systems of main propulsion and auxiliary machinery, deck-, cargo handling- and hotel equipment in accordance with STCW 78 as ammended Section A-III/6.

Õppija kirjeldab:
- pea- ja abimasinate ning abimehhanismide automaatjuhtimisseadmete elektriliste, elektrooniliste, pneumo- ja hüdraulikakomponentide hoolduse ja remondi protseduure;
- PID regulaatorite, täiturmehhanismide, kütuse temperatuuri ja viskoossuse automaatreguleerimis-süsteemide ning kütuse-, määrdeõli,-jahutusvee- ja suruõhu-automaatjuhtimissüsteemide hoolduse ja remondi nõudeid;
- tekimehhanismide elektri-, elektroonika- ja juhtimissüsteemide ja põhikomponentide tööpõhimõtted ning ülevaatuse, hoolduse ja remondi põhinõudeid;
- külmutuskonteinerite juhtimissüsteemide ja andmete salvestusseadmete kontrolli, hoolduse ja remondi põhimõtteid;
- olmeseadmete, hotelli ohutuse ja häiresüsteemide ning valgustussüsteemide kasutamise, hoolduse ja remondi protseduure ja nõudeid;
- pea- ja abimasinate, abimehhanismide ning tekiseadmete kaug- ja automaatjuhtimise otstarvet ja tüüpilisi skeeme;
- elektriliste, elektrooniliste, hüdrauliliste ja pneumaatiliste skeemielementide tööpõhimõtteid ja ehitust;
- laevamehhanismide automaatjuhtimissüsteemide (AJS) kasutamise eeskirju ja protseduure.

Õppija suudab iseseisvalt:
- lugeda eeltoodud süsteemide skeeme ja selgitada skeemide alusel nende tööpõhimõtteid;
- tuvastada nende süsteemide tüüpilisi rikkeid ja neid võimalusel kõrvaldada;
- laevamehhanismide AJS tööks ette valmistada, töösse rakendada ja töös jälgida.

The student has aquired knowledge of:
- procedures of maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic components of automatic and control systems of main propulsion and auxiliary;
- basics of maintenance and repair of PID controllers and actuators;
- maintenance procedures and repair of fuel temperatuure and viscosity automatic control systems;
- maintenance procedures and repair of automatic control systems of fuel, lubricating oil, cooling water and compressed air automatic control systems;
- basic principles of operation, inspections, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and control systems of deck machinery and their main components (mooring winches and windlasses with manual and automatic control, winches of accomodation ladders, lifesaving boats, hatch covers and deck cranes);
- principles of routine inspections, maintenance and repair of control and data recording systems of reefer containers;
- principles of operation, procedures and requirements of maintenance and repair elevators, galley and laundry equipment, hotel safety, alarm and lighting systems;
- purpose and typical configurations of remote and automatic control systems of main and auxiliary machinery and deck equipment;
- working principles and construction of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic components of remote and automatic control systems;
- operational requirements and procedures of automatic control systems of main, auxiliary and deck machinery.

The student is able to:
- read, understand and explain working principles of above-mentioned systems using corresponding diagrams;
- detect and remove typical malfunctions of these systems;
- prepare, start and operate remote and automatic control systems of ship's main, auxuliary and deck machinery.

AJS seadmete elektriliste, elektrooniliste, pneumo- ja hüdraulikakomponentide hoolduse ja remondi protseduurid.
PID regulaatorite ja täiturmehhanismide hoolduse ja remondi nõuded.
Kütuse temperatuuri ja viskoossuse automaatreguleerimissüsteemide hoolduse ja remondi nõuded.
Kütuse-, määrdeõli,-jahutusvee- ja suruõhu-süsteemide automaatjuhtimise süsteemide ehitus, hoolduse- ja remondi- ning kasutusnõuded
Tekimehhanismide (käsi- ja automaatjuhtimisega ankru- ja haalamisseadmed, lastiruumide luugikatete, tekikraanade, trappide ja päästepaatide veeskamisseadmete vintsid) elektri-,elektroonika- ja juhtimissüsteemide ja põhikomponentide tööpõhimõtted ning ülevaatuse, hoolduse ja remondi, ehitus ning kasutamise põhinõuded.
Külmutuskonteinerite juhtimissüsteemide ja andmete salvestusseadmete kontrolli-, hoolduse- ja remondi põhimõtted, ehitus ja kasutamisnõuded.
