VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Doktorant omandab professionaalsel tasandil teadmised kaasaegsest transpordisüsteemide kvantitatiivsest modelleerimisest.
course aims in English
The aim of the course is to give doctoral students a thorough overview of quantitative modelling of transportation systems.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane töötab välja ja rakendab:
- transpordisüsteemide kvantitatiivse modelleerimise süsteemi, mis on sünteesitud varasemate teeside ning teadustööde põhjal;
- kvantitatiivse modelleerimise meetodeid, illustreerides nende rakendatavust enda poolt valitud transpordisüsteemis.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course, the student develops and implements:
- quantitative modelling approaches of transportation systems and uses different dissertations and research literature to illustrate these;
- advanced quantitative modelling with using different tools, where students analyse their own transportation system.
brief description of the course in Estonian
Meretranspordil on siinkohal võtmeroll, sest moodustab suure osa rahvusvahelisest transpordisüsteemist. Põhiväljakutse on merendus- ja teiste transpordisüsteemide optimaalne ühendamine.
brief description of the course in English
There exists increasing pressure on transportation systems to provide cost competitive services within environmentally sustainable manner and reaching other objectives (like lead time, quality and value added services). Therefore, this requires more use of quantitative modelling of these systems with statistics, optimization, simulation, and/or analytical models. Maritime transport holds key role in here as it is the most important component in international transportation chains – question is how other transportation modes are integrated into it in seamless manner and with stated objectives.
type of assessment in Estonian
Mitteeristav hindamine.
Kursuse käigus üliõpilane:
- sooritab jooksvad testid;
- esitab loengus antud teemal individuaalse aruande;
- esitab uurimisseminaril oma töö tulemused ja teeb ettekande.
type of assessment in English
Non-graded assessment.
During the course the student:
- completes tests given in lecturers;
- submits an individual report on a given topic;
- presents the results in a research seminar.
independent study in Estonian
independent study in English
Course ends to research seminar, where students give short presentation from their research manuscript (could be made individually or together with someone), which contains own quantitative analyses and literature review from analysis area. Together with this, students are individually required to supply written analysis from one selected and recent (max. five years old) Dr. thesis from topic area (2000-4000 words).
