VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Luua üliõpilasele võimalused teadmiste omandamiseks laeva meresõiduomadustest ning võimalustest parendada laeva meresõidu- ja ekspluatatsiooniomadusi (juhitavus, manööverdusvõime, ökonoomsus jm).
course aims in English
Provide for the student the opportunities to acquire knowledge of the maritime characteristics of the ship and the possibilities to improve the ship's navigational and operational qualities (navigability, manoeuvrability, economic efficiency, etc.).
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Õppeaine läbinu oskab hinnata laevade sõiduomadusi erinevates tingimustes ning teha optimaalseid valikuid toetudes laevakere kuju ja mõõtmete suhetele.
Omab hinnangute andmiseks piisavas mahus teadmisi laeva ekspluatatsioonilise suutlikkuse kujundamise võimalustest, veetakistusest, masinavõimsusest, rooli ehitusest tulenevatest käsitusomadustest (kiirus, manööverdusvõime, kütusekulu, käitumine madalvees jt); omab infot käiturite ja juhtimisvahendite optimeerimise võimalustest.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
Student who has passed the subject will be able to assess the performance of the vessels in different conditions and make optimal choices based on the shape and dimensions of the hull.
He/she has sufficient knowledge of the possibilities of designing the ship's operational capacity, water resistance, engine power, and the design characteristics of the steering wheel (speed, manoeuvrability, fuel consumption, behaviour in low water, etc.); has information on the possibilities of optimizing propulsion and steering control.
brief description of the course in Estonian
Laeva juhitavus. Laeva meresõiduomadused eritingimustes (jääs, tormilisel merel, hoovuste mõjul). Laevakere tugevuse ja vastupidavuse küsimused. Laeva sõidu- ja manööverdamiskatsete korraldamine.
Teadmiste omandamine võimalustest parandada laeva mere- ja ekspluatatsiooniomadusi (juhitavust, manööverdusvõimet, ökonoomsust jm).
brief description of the course in English
The resistance to vessel motion in deep and shallow water and types of water resistance, calculation of water resistance by theoretical and experimental methods. The actuators and propulsive qualities of a vessel. The swing and propulsion of a vessel in calm waters and in case of waves. Navigability of a vessel. The seaworthiness of a vessel in specific conditions (ice, rough seas, in case of current impact). Problems of ship hull strength and its wear quality. Regulation of navigation and manoeuvring experiments of a vessel.
Acquire of knowledge on ways to optimize ship seagoing and operational abilities
