Õppeaine eesmärgid on:
- luua üliõpilasele tingimused tervikliku nägemuse kujundamiseks inimressursi juhtimise rollist kaasaegses merenduses ning erinevate merendusettevõtete tulemusliku juhtimise võimalustest läbimõeldud tööjõustrateegia kaudu;
- anda süsteemsed teadmised ja oskused inimressursi analüüsimiseks, kujundamiseks, tulemuslikuks juhtimiseks ning tasustamiseks erinevates merendusettevõtetes.

The aims of this course are to:
- develop a comprehensive vision of the role of human resource management in modern maritime and the possibilities of effective management of various maritime companies through a well-thought-out workforce strategy;
- provide systematic knowledge and skills for human resource analysis, design, effective management and work remuneration in specific maritime companies.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- formuleerib ja pakub välja tulemuslikke tööjõustrateegiaid eri tüüpi merendusettevõtete jaoks;
- võrdleb omavahel ja eristab eri tüüpi merendusettevõtete spetsiifilisi personalijuhtimise praktikaid;
- kujundab ja soovitab konkreetse merendusettevõtte spetsiifikat arvestavaid parimaid praktikaid personali värbamisel, motiveerimisel ja tulemuslikul juhtimisel.

- compares and differentiates the specific personnel management practices of different types of maritime companies;

Merendusettevõtte tööjõustrateegia. Merendussektori tööjõuturg, palgaturg ja nende mõju merendusettevõtte tööjõustrateegiale ning inimressursi juhtimise põhimõtetele ja praktikatele. Probleemülesannete lahendamine töörühmades.
Tööjõule merenduses esitatavate nõuete spetsiifika ja rahvusvaheline ning riigisisene õiguslik regulatsioon.
Personalivaliku ja -värbamise põhimõtted; personalivalik ja värbamine laevandusettevõttesse (kaldapersonal ja ujuvkoosseis); personalivalik ja -värbamine kaldaettevõtetesse merenduses. Probleemülesannete lahendamine töörühmades.
Personali arendamine ja koolitamine merendusettevõttes. Probleemülesannete lahendamine töörühmades.

Maritime company workforce strategy. The labour market of the maritime sector, the wage market, and their impact on the labour strategy of the maritime company and the principles and practices of human resource management. Solving problem tasks in working groups.
The specifics of requirements for labour in maritime and international and domestic legal regulation.
Principles of personnel selection and recruitment; personnel selection and recruitment for the shipping company (shore personnel and crew); personnel selection and recruitment for shore-based companies in the maritime sector. Solving problem tasks in working groups.

Remuneration and motivation of the personnel of the maritime company. Solving problem tasks in working groups.
