Aine eesmärk on:
- arendada üliõpilaste mõtlemisoskust ja ruumikujutlusvõimet ning põhiteadmisi joonestamisoskuste ja tehniliste jooniste lugemisoskuste kohta;
- anda alusteadmised kolmemõõtmelisest modelleerimisest CAD-süsteemis Solid Edge.

The aim of thsi course is to:
- provide the student with general knowledge of engineering drawings and give knowledge of drawing and reading technical drawings;
- give basic knowledge of 3D modeling in CAD-system Solid Edge.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- nimetab joonestusalaseid põhimõisteid ja rakendab põhilisi jooniste vormistamise nõudeid;
- joonestab kehade ruumilisi kujutisi ja projektsioone;
- loeb ja joonestab erinevate tüüpdetailide tööjooniseid;
- loeb lihtsaid koostejooniseid, sealhulgas laevaehituses;
- lahendab iseseisvalt merendusvaldkonnas esinevate objektide nt laeva detailide ja sõlmede projekteerimisülesandeid, kasutades selleks 3D modelleerimistarkvara Solid Edge: loob 3D mudeleid erinevate SE moodulitega (part, sheet metal); koostab virtuaalsed koostud (assembly, weldment assembly); valmistab ette tehnilise dokumentatsiooni (detailide ja koostude joonised, spetsifikatsioonid jne).

After completing this course the student:
- names the main terms and uses the main requirements for drawing;
- draws the three-dimensional image and projection of the body;
- understands and draws the drawings of different technical parts;
- understands and draws the composed parts drawings, including in ship building;
- solves shipbuilding engineering tasks using 3D modeling software Solid Edge: creates 3D models of various SE modules (SE Part, SE Sheet Metal; makes a virtual assemblies (SE Assembly, SE Weldment Assembly); prepares technical documentation (parts and assemblies drawings, specifications, etc.).

1. Joonestusvahendid. Jooniste vormistamine. Punkti ja sirge projektsioonid. Peamised geomeetrilised konstruktsioonid ja kehad. Ruumiline kujutamine. Kujutiste liigid: vaated, lõiked jm. Tüüpdetailide joonised. Koostejoonised, sealhulgas laevaehituses.
2. CAD - Sissejuhatus masinprojekteerimisse: Ajalugu ja tähtsus tänapäeva elus. Eelised. Võimalused. Mõisted. Kasutatavad. Standardid. CAD´i osa toote arenduses. Lähteülesanne. Projekteerimise põhimõte. Dokumentide tähistamine.
3. Solid Edge: Ülevaade (Kasutajaliides (Failide avamine, salvestamine ja otsimine. Failide tüübid)), Abi tasapinnad (Töötasapinna määratlemine ja loomine 3D projekteerimiskeskkonnas)); 2D modelleerimine (2D profiilid ja sketch´id, sidemete tüübid ja nende defineerimine); 3D detailide modelleerimine ja redigeerimine (tahkkehad, pöördkehad, füüsikalised omadused (mass, inertsmomendid), „feature’de“ defineerimine, sidemed erinevate mudelite vahel); Lehtmetallist toodete modelleerimine (lehtmetallist detailide eripära, erinevad vahendid/käsud lehtmetallist toodete modelleerimiseks (erinevad feature’d), detaili pinnalaotus); Koostude modelleerimine (detailide koostamise põhimõtted („top-down“, „bottom – up“, „skeleton“ modelleerimise ideoloogia), o sidemed detailide vahel, Vahendid koostu visualiseerimiseks (näita ainult teatud detaile, näita kõiki detaile, Piltide salvestamine, „Explode View“ ja „Cutaway View“ jne.)); Jooniste vormistamine CAD süsteemis (erinevate vaadete defineerimine, lõigete defineerimine, mõõtmete ületoomine 3D detaili- või koostumudelist, mõõtmete märkimine.); Andmevahetus erinevate CAD süsteemide vahel (liideste tüübid, enamkasutatavad liidesed).

1. Drawing instruments. Forming of drawings. Point and line projections.
Main geometrical structures and bodies. Three-dimensional portrayal.
Types of images: views, sections, etc. Drawings of type components. Assembly drawings, including in shipbuilding.
2. CAD - Introduction to Machine Design: The history and importance of modern life. Benefits. Opportunities. Definitions. Available Standards used in CAD. CAD role in product development. Initial task. The principle of design. Technical documentation marking.
3. CAD system Solid Edge: Overview (User Interface (File Open, Save etc. File Types), Work Planes); 2D modeling (2D profiles and sketches, Types of joints and their definition); Modelling and editing of 3D details (Solid bodies, rotating bodies, physical properties (mass, moments of inertia), definition of "features“, links between different models); Modelling of sheet metal products (Characteristics of sheet metal parts, different tools/handles for modelling sheet metal products (different features), surface distribution of the part); Modelling of assemblies (Principles of detailing (top-down, bottom-up, skeleton modelling ideology), Links between details, Tools to visualise the assembly (Show only certain details, Show all details, Save images, Explode View and Cutaway View, etc.); Preparation of drawings in CAD (Definition of different views, Definition of sections, Transferring dimensions from a 3D detail or assembly model, marking dimensions.); Data exchange between different CAD systems (Interface types, Most commonly used interfaces).
