Õpetada hüdromehaanika põhivõrrandite füüsikalist sisu ja tutvustada nende matemaatiliselt lihtsaid lahendusi. Arendada ülesannete lahendamise oskusi hüdrostaatika ja hüdrodünaamika valemite kasutamiseks hüdrotehnikas, merenduses ja laevanduses.

Teaching the fundamental equations of hydromechanics and demonstrate its mathematically simple solutions. Develop the skills of using the hydrostatics and hydrodynamics formulae in solving the problems in the water systems, maritime systems and shipping.

OSA1 - hüdrostaatika
- oskab arvutada staatilist rõhku ja selle muutust vees;
- oskab arvutada vees rõhku ja selle muutust suhtelise tasakaalu olukorras;
- oskab arvutada rõhujõudu uputatud pindadele ja kehale;
- oskab määrata keha ujuvust ja püstuvust.

OSA2 - hüdrodünaamika
- oskab koostada vooluvõrgu ideaalvedeliku voolamise jaoks ümber keha;
- oskab arvutada pidevust piirdega määratud voolamisele;
- oskab arvutada voolamist muutuva rõhu all läbi ava;
- oskab määrata mehaanilise energia muutust piirdega määratud voolamisele;
- oskab arvutada hõõrdejõudu piirdel ühtlase voolamise jaoks;
- oskab kasutada takistustegureid hõõrde- ja kohtsurvekadude määramiseks hüdraulilises süsteemis;
- oskab arvutada takistusjõudu vedelikus liikuvale kehale.

Part 1 – hydrostatics
- able to calculate the static pressure and its changes in water;
- able to calculate in water the pressure and its changes with rigid body motion;
- able to calculate the pressure force on submerged surfaces and body;
- able to determine the buoyancy and stability of body.

Part 2 - hydrodynamics
- able to construct a flow network for the ideal fluid flow around the body;
- able to calculate the continuity for boundary determined flow;
- able to calculate the flow under changing pressure through an orifice;
- able to determine the mechanical energy changes for boundary determined flow;
- able to calculate the frictional force at the boundary of uniform flow;
- able to use the resistance coefficients for determining the major and minor losses in hydraulic system;
- able to calculate the drag force of a moving body in water.

Õppeaine koosneb kahest osast: 1) hüdrostaatika (OSA1) ja 2) hüdrodünaamika (OSA2). Õppeaines on sissejuhatust üldfüüsika osadest ja matemaatiline abimaterjal.

The subject is consisting of two parts: 1) hydrostatics (PART 1) and 2) hydrodynamics (PART 2). The subject includes the introduction of the basic physics parts and the mathematical tutorial.

OSA1 - hüdrostaatika
- absoluutse rõhu, ülerõhu ja vaakumi määramine survesüsteemis. Manomeetrite kasutamine;
- rõhu määramine veega täidetud tangis, mis liigub jäiga keha kiirendusega;
- hüdrostaatilise koormuse määramine uputatud pinnale;
- vedelikega täidetud tangi ujuvuse ja püstuvuse määramine.
OSA2 - hüdrodünaamika
- vooluvõrgu analüüs ideaalvedeliku voolamisele ümber keha, nagu ringsilinder või Rankine’i keha;
- veega täidetud anuma tühjenemine läbi ava. Hõõrde- ja kohttakistustegurite kasutamine toitetorus;
- anuma täitumine veega läbi ava. Hõõrde- ja kohttakistustegurite kasutamine tühjendamistorus;
- voolukiiruse määramine survetorus. Pitot’ mõõtur;
- vooluhulga määramine survetorus. Venturi mõõtur;
- takistusjõu ja masina vajaliku võimsuse määramine vees liikuvale ujuvalusele.

PART 1 - hydrostatics
- determination of the absolute pressure, vacuum and overpressure in the pressurized system. Use of the gauges;
- determination of the pressure in the water-filled tank, which is moving with rigid body acceleration;
- determination of the hydrostatic loads on submerged surface;
- determination of the liquids-filled tank buoyancy and stability.
PART 2 - hydrodynamics
- analysis of the flow net of the ideal fluid flow around the body, such as round-cylinder or Rankine body;
- emptying of the water-filled tank through an orifice. Using the resistance coefficients of the main and minor losses in the depleting pipe;
- filling of the empty tank with water through an orifice. Using the resistance coefficients of the main and minor losses in the feeding pipe;
- determination of the flow speed in pressurized pipe. Pitot gauge;
- determination of the flow rate in pressurized pipe. Venturi gauge;
- determination of the drag force and the required engine power for the vessel moving in water.
